Just 5 minutes walk distance from the Kyoto Station Hachijo West exit. Room is basically clean, just a little bit dusty. Anyway, the toilet is very clean and modern, with a big bath tub as well. Very spacious studio room and suitable for family with kids.
The room was big. Satisfy for me. The distance between hotel and train station like 8 mins walk. Not so good if it is winter. Overall still good. Close to aeon mall. Still recommend for staying.
The location is convenient, close to Kyoto Station and Aeon. The room is spacious and has a kitchen, which is great for cooking. The front desk staff were friendly and provided detailed explanations.
Great location and all the staff were super friendly!
Great modern boutique hotel just steps from Kyoto Station (crucially on the south side of the station where its quiet). There is a 7-eleven just on the next corner. Large rooms accommodating 3-4 guests with good mattresses on an elevated floor. 2 sinks in well designed bathroom (shower plus bathtub). Large living room plus fully equipped kitchenette. Everything you need is there. Staff very helpful...

Fantastic hotel with very attentive staff, a wonderful location and spectacular rooms
It’s so wonderful and natural view. Feeling relax and I love it.
Very good, I liked the hotel's atmosphere.
The service was great and the location was just perfect. I love everything about this hotel. Especially the thermal pool right outside the door.
The room was very spacious and comfortable, and the service was attentive. The in-room bathtub was also very comfortable, and the outdoor pool was a natural hot spring; unfortunately, I didn't bring my swimsuit to try it out.
Every corner offered a beautiful view.
The breakfast was also very plentiful.
Facilities: The facilities are new and user-friendly, with a built-in hot tub.
Cleanliness: Very clean.
Environment: Located in a quiet mountain corner, the environment is pleasant.
Service: Excellent service.

I really enjoyed this hotel; it was very relaxing. The only downside is that some Western guests might not be familiar with onsen etiquette. I saw many people going straight into the hot springs without showering first or still having soap on them.
I absolutely enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Very baby/kids friendly. Price was extremely value for money. Very large room for Japan standard, free flow alcohol - highball, asahi, calpis sour, shochu, wine every night at their pantry level 2 evenings till 10pm. Hotel has hot bathhouse for hotel guests (men and women separate), 3 hot baths and 1 cold plunge. Loved the hot bath experience. Breakfast although...
Very good stay. Great service and amenities. Will stay again in next visit
This was my second stay, and it truly offers the most spacious rooms I've encountered in Japan – I absolutely love it. The hotel has a grand exterior, and there's a dedicated complimentary onsen with multiple pools, some even featuring massage functions. They also provide a free drinks and snack area, and a room for enjoying music, making the overall experience very relaxing. The photos I took show...
Everything is perfect except the so-called wagyu dinner at the hotel restaurant. While the photo of the menu presents a nice wagyu and you can pre-order as many times as you can within 90 minutes, the beef was served in a very disgusting appearance. It is tough and dark yet it is not done inside. It is definitely not worthy of 7890 yens pax. It was electric grill but not charcoal grill. Anyway, the...
The location is convenient, 1 stop away from Kyoto station and just a few mins walk away from Umeikoji Station.
The facilities are good and clean at all times. They have themes for each level’s amenities, like that they have a snack, music, library area. They also have onsen!

Conveniently located with easy luggage-friendly access to buses, trams and even the Hankyu line to Osaka. Great value.
The premises is spacious and clean. Its location is convenient and near to amenities.
Room was so comfortable, and worth the money! I had a very great time staying there.
Clean / Smart Hotel and Budget Friendly
Would’ve been terrific minus the cigarette smells in the lobby and the super hard beds. Outside of that pretty good stay and close to a lot of things like Nijo castle, Kyoto imperial palace. There’s a few supermarkets to choose from like life and fresco. There’s a showers in the room are everything!
Great hotel! The staff was helpful. Located within walking distance to the busy areas. Rooms are clean and feels comfortable. There aren’t much amenities but given that it’s located in the city centre, that’s alright.

Facilities: Very complete, has everything you need.
Hygiene: Very clean, with the option to just have towels changed daily.
Service: Luggage storage available.
Environment: Very close to Kyoto Station. Everything was good apart from the room being a bit small.
Great location, Kyoto Station is directly opposite to the hotel. Staff members were courteous and friendly
Very convenient location. Underpass to Porta / Kyoto station is at door step and there is a cafe (ogawa coffee) and soba restaurant at level 1 of the same building. Room a bit small but can open suitcase if you shift the furniture a little
Location is good near to the Kyoto bus interchange with lots of food eateries around.
I really enjoyed by stay here. It's in a convenient location right next to kyoto station. Room is sufficient for solo travellers! Amenities were also provided. There was also a laundry area with vending machines for drinks. Overall, I had a really good stay here and I felt really safe here as a solo female traveller.
Located right opposite Kyoto Station, it's just a 10-minute walk from the station exit, right under Kyoto Tower. The location is incredibly convenient for getting around. In general I liked the hotel. It wasn't perfect, but still above the average. Room wasn't too small, nice spa area, good breakfast. I'm European, but there were enough options to choose smth from non-asian food. Room was clean, but section above the bed had a lot of dust and fan in bathroom was pretty dirty. Cleaners were very friendly. I wish they give some tea/coffee in each room as well. Also there...
Great location with a short bus or metro ride to many tourist attractions. Room is clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly. Room rate is good for the location and quality.
Clean and comfortable, new finishings, spacious room, close to a great supermarket and local restaurants.
The staff is not so friendly, normal compare to other hotel I've stayed. The bed I got made me itchy a little in the night. Good things it near the center.
I am a very mean person and give a half star to most of the places. This hotel (for its price) is very nice for its nice front staffs, cleanliness, and an okay indoor onsen.
Although the breakdast in a buffet style, the number of food was very small. It was okay though.
The microwave wasn't working properly. That is the only complaint I have.
Hotel is very good for stay..they provide free spa...but the prices are very high for an average earning person.

The hotel is really good , lobby service I can say 10/10 perfectly fine. There’s a hot spring inside the hotel , vry comfortable also near to metro and is a quiet neighborhood at night but also nearby everywhere u wanna access in Kyoto love it !
I’ve stayed in Kyoto many times and I just have to say that this is one of the best values you’ll get for your money. I found the facilities to be very well kept and was a nice balance of modern and traditional design elements. The hotel has a nice restaurant and bar and a number of entertainment options throughout the week. The spa was very nice and the PJs in room with towel bag is a nice touch....
A lifesaver during the off-season! This is my favorite hotel chain; I absolutely love the decor. The service is also excellent. It's a top-notch Japanese hotel chain that I highly recommend.
Excellent hotel! The front desk staff were very welcoming. We usually check in using English when we're abroad, but here they even had Chinese service available. The facilities are a bit old, and there's a large public bath on the first floor separated by gender, but it's not a hot spring. The hotel also offers Kabuki performances.
Very clean, and the room was spacious. They also had a geisha performance every evening, which added a nice touch of local Kyoto culture. The hotel's location is good too; it's about a 10-minute walk to Kyoto Daimaru department store, which is very convenient.
I had a very comfortable 3-day stay at this hotel. It's right near a pedestrian street, which made it super convenient to walk to Smart Coffee. The large bathroom only has one tub, but it was very clean and the water temperature was perfect. I took a relaxing soak there every day. The front desk service was excellent, especially Wang! I had a double booking issue, and he handled it perfectly for me...

overall nice stay, the shuttle bus was super convenient. really near convenience stores & train station too
Wonderful hotel and stay at this place. Good amenities. Love the free onsen! Laundry machines. Free shuttle to/from Kyoto station to hotel. Would definitely recommend and stay at the place next time again.
No issues with everything. Onsen with 2 temperatures. Carbonated onsen is less hot. The normal one is as hot as one expects I think.

The room was tiny, especially during the maple leaf season when prices skyrocket. There was no hot water downstairs, which was a hassle, as I had to go back to my room to even cook instant noodles. On the upside, the location was excellent, with several convenience stores nearby.
Facilities: Excellent, really well-equipped.
Cleanliness: Daily cleaning service, fresh towels, and two bottles of water consistently replenished in the fridge.
Environment: Spacious and bright.
The hotel is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from the subway exit, with several FamilyMart convenience stores nearby. The front desk staff are warm and polite, and there's a comfortable dining area in the lobby where you can heat up your own food and enjoy free-flowing coffee. Great location, very convenient, yet surprisingly quiet. The room was clean, well-equipped, and offered excellent value for money. Highly recommend! ✌️✌️✌️
The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Kyoto Station, making it super convenient for both buses and JR. The room was small but very clean. There was no real window, just a decorative one, giving the room a really stylish feel overall. The bed and duvet were incredibly comfortable, a huge improvement compared to my experience the previous night at Shanghai Pudong Airport Hotel.
This hotel is super convenient, right next to Kyoto Station. If you exit Kyoto Station and head right, past the Kyoto Theater, you'll be there in no time. It's a lifesaver for anyone traveling with luggage, making transfers to the Shinkansen, bus, or subway incredibly easy.
The room's layout was well-thought-out, and the bedding was wonderfully soft and comfortable. The bathroom facilities were spotless...
Location: About a 3-5 minute walk from Kyoto Station, which is quite convenient. The entrance is a bit small.
Facilities: Our triple room was still quite spacious even with large suitcases. The decor has a distinct Kyoto feel. Downstairs, you can enjoy complimentary coffee and juice.
Service: Excellent. The front desk staff mostly speak English, and one of the ladies speaks basic Chinese.
Stayed for one night as a couple. The room was extremely spacious; enough to fully open two big luggages. There was also free snacks in the guest lounge for guests to enjoy at night. The room was quite spacious, which is a plus for a Japanese chain hotel – you can usually count on their cleanliness. I always pick them for business trips. If you're not in a hurry, you can walk to Tofuku-ji Temple, and it's very convenient to catch a bus nearby to Eikan...
The hotel is about 500 meters from Kyoto Station; you can walk straight there after exiting the station. The hotel's breakfast is quite simple, but there are many restaurants nearby. There's also a subway station just 300 meters from the hotel, making it very convenient for getting around. For Kiyomizu-dera Temple, I recommend taking the bus.
The room was quite small, barely enough space to open one suitcase. It's about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station, and there's a Family Mart convenience store diagonally across the street. The Kujo subway exit is roughly 5 minutes away. They offer common amenities like a washing machine and microwave. I chose a smoking room, which came equipped with an air purifier.

Very good value hotel in a super location very near the JR station.

Extremely happy with my stay here, especially in this room. Honestly, I’m not sure why there are bad reviews — unless you’re particularly plus-size and need extra space, this room is completely fine. It actually has way more aesthetic and character than a plain, cookie-cutter hotel room, and the whole atmosphere genuinely added to our stay.

Toyoko Inn is my favorite hotel because it's clean and comfortable, but the walls at the Gojo Karasuma location seem quite thin. I could clearly hear the voices and sounds from the next room, and I couldn't relax because I kept thinking, "They can hear me too, right?!"
