I traveled with my parents and booked a twin room and a double room. The overall space was a bit small, especially the twin room, which wasn't much bigger than the double room. overall aesthetic, affordable place to be in kyoto. near several hotspots like kyoto station (a subway ride away), gion area. i find buses around this area to be very convenient to travel around kyoto. room was subjectively huge compared to the price and staff was extremely hospitable

The rooms aren't huge, but we booked two standard rooms for our family of four. They were very clean, and we appreciated the daily towel changes and room tidying. The front desk service was excellent, and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend!

Excellent hotel! The surrounding area is packed with great little shops. It's only about 400 meters from a 7-Eleven. You'll find so many izakayas, bakeries, coffee shops, and bistros – you'll be spoiled for choice! Absolutely perfect, I'll definitely be staying here again.

A fantastic experience! It's quiet and clean, with convenient laundry facilities and vending machines. The hotel is just a 4-block walk from Karasuma Station, and complimentary coffee and tea are available in the afternoon.

I stayed here twice, both times it was clean, quiet, and reasonably priced. The location is super convenient with a shopping street and convenience stores downstairs. It's also really close to the Nijo-jo Mae subway station and Nijo JR station, and the bus stop is just a few steps away, making it perfect for me.

The room was spotless. Although the location is a bit far from the subway station, it's very quiet as it's in a residential area, and the space is quite large. The front desk staff were also very polite. The only minor drawback was that the air conditioner was positioned right above the bed, and having the heat blowing directly on me made it a bit difficult to sleep. Everything else was perfect.

Located on Shijo, about a 700-meter walk from the shopping district, the room had plenty of beds, making it great for group trips and families. The room was definitely spacious, at 60 square meters, it easily trumps most Japanese hotels. The two tables were also really convenient for placing items and dining. The location is fairly convenient; you do have to walk a bit to the subway, but it's worth it for the price.

MIMARU is a top-notch hotel chain with locations across Japan, always a reliable choice. I've personally stayed at their Akasaka (Tokyo), Nihonbashi (Tokyo), and another branch in Kyoto. Highly satisfied, absolutely flawless.

well, i mistakenly choose the smoking room which made me feel very uncomfortable whole night. It's my fault, I don't blame, but the ventilation is sooooo bad that I could always smell the smoking from my next-door neighbor. Others were ok. If you don't mind it's a bit old and you would just stay for a night, this is a good choice.

If you are going to visit Lake Biwa or Hikone Castle, staying at Reiah Hotel Otsu Ishiyama is very convenient for transportation and the price is much more affordable than hotels in Kyoto. The hotel breakfast is good and freshly ground coffee is available all day.

What's great is that the price is reasonable even with breakfast included. Moreover, the services are excellent, including alcohol-free options and a private large public bath (reservations required), so I highly recommend it. The food was delicious. The room had a slight odor, and I was bothered by how clearly I could hear sounds from the hallway (there was a gap under the door).

The place was great, very try clean and comfortable stay. There are no complaints during the entire stay.

The hotel is located about ten minutes' walk from the tram station. It's about a three or four block walk from Kiyomizu-Gojo Station. The service was excellent. There's a small soaking tub, but I couldn't figure out how to use the curtains to block the sun. The tatami room itself was quite spacious.

The best accommodation of my life so far! Extremely cozy place, clean, cultured. The staff is kind, direct and helpful. The rooms are perfect. The spa is also wonderful and tattoos are no problem either.

The room was spacious, a very traditional Japanese-style hotel. The bedding was very comfortable, and I slept soundly that night. The hotel is very unique , it has exhibits in each room which is very unique but eats up a lot of space in the room. So the room feels cramped . There’s no space to walk and open bags not unless it’s a big room.
