Hotel was really good and convenient. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable.
The room was clean and nice. There was a convenience store nearby, which was convenient. I went by car, and the parking attendant was very kind, explaining the nearby parking lots in detail and checking their availability, which was a great help.
Had a quick one night stay in this hotel and enjoyed it.
I was expecting older room type that I saw in photos, but I got a nice renovated room that is the same as new APA hotels.
The location is very convenient, but be careful as there is another APA hotel literally on the other side of the road - this one is the smaller one.
Unfortunately there are no washing machines available.
The breakfast is...
I was generally satisfied except for the fact that the front desk was a bit cramped.
It's easily accessible from the station.
I'd like to use it again.
Good and comfortable stay, but needs improvement. The cleaning staff showed unprofessional attitude. I had put my full trash bag outside my door for collection. It did get collected, however they simply threw another trash disposal bag into my garbage bin and left it there for me to open and wrap into the bin. Since they had entered my room to do the needful, how many seconds would it have taken them...
Great service and I love that they installed filtered and purified water in the shower that you can use for drinking. They have a cafe right down the lobby which has really good and affordable coffee, matcha etc. It’s about 3mins walk to the train station and they have a couple of convenient store nearby within walking distance. The one downside we found is they don’t have any laundry services within...

There are very good facilities and location. Good onsen and breakfast.
Staying at Ishicho was a great experience! The staff were incredibly friendly and the room and onsen were very nice! I would definitely recommend staying here.
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, amazing breakfast and dinner, and a very unique hotel room experience. The onsen was the icing on the cake!
Me and a friend stayed for two nights as we wanted to explore areas of the Kansai region. It was such a nice experience! We didn’t end up trying the public baths, so I can’t comment on that, but the room itself and the futons were great ^^
When I think walkable, it may be different to someone else’s walkable, but transport (bus) is okay to get around— it is pretty busy though so take at your own caution...
The property was very clean and in a good location. The room was just enough space for my sister and I.
Large room in friendly ryokan.
Lovely hotel in good location very close to river, imperial palace and markets. Good access to subway. Room was clean and large. Toilet a bit musty in smell.

Beautifully designed hotel in a quiet area but very conveniently located (15 min walk from station). I love the onsen and afternoon drinks in the comfortable cafe. Highly recommend the Japanese breakfast.
Love the ambience of the Hotel!
Close to bus stop station and love the ONSEN!
Stayed for several nights in December — very good location for many attactions and Kyoto station in walking distance. Staff was very helpful with the luggage and treats, also warned about free calligraphy lesson in dinning area which was additional impression during my stay!
Good hotel, breakfast was very limited. There were 2 types of breakfast Japanese and American
Excellent hotel overall, in my opinion. As a family of four, two adults and two toddlers, the room we received was too small. We could not find a place to store our luggages.
Really enjoyed this hotel. Around 1 km walk from Kyoto Station. Breakfast was good, bed was comfy, and I loved the natural feel — zen garden, onsen, and the hotel smells nice too.

If you are planing a cheap hotel near Kyoto I recommend this one. Literally the hotel is in the station just get the elevator and go down and there you go you arrive attge station and after 2 stops 9 minutes you arrive at Kyoto station.
Located behind the JR station which could take you to anywhere outside the town. Need to walk to other location within the town as there's no connecting train. The hotel is rather old but is ok to stay at affordable price. A restraurant within the hotel that serve good food.
The location right next to the station is super convenient. The front desk staff were also excellent.
Great stay! Very convenient location close to the station.
Great location and nice room. Breakfast is pretty good too.
The location is great, but the hotel is quite old and the decor is showing its age.

Although the room was small, it had everything we needed. The staff were very welcoming and the room was very clean. The location is quite convenient; Nishiki Market is less than a 10-minute walk away.
This hotel was perfect for our stay in Kyoto. It was exceptionally clean, beautiful rooms and excellent customer service. My friend got sick half way through the night and the hotel let us book a separate room at 01:00 in the morning. It was a great location so we would definitely stay again!
The location is generally not far from the city center, and there's a supermarket and subway station within a ten-minute walk. The decor is quite new, and the bathroom is spacious.
It's a bit of a walk from Karasuma Oike subway station. There's a small supermarket nearby, and a Family Mart and 7-Eleven a little further down the road. The room layout is a bit odd; it could have had more space, but the strange design makes it feel smaller than it is.
We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The rooms were cleaned everyday. It had a Nespresso (pixie) in the room with 2 free pods.
The bed was comfy. I’m not a big fan of the pillows but I was able to sleep well anyway.
The location is okay.
Location is fine...services is excellent...I will come again next time.

This is a clean, standard business hotel with complimentary coffee. It was very convenient to have a coin parking lot right next door, as I drove there. I might have just missed them, but I didn't see any convenience stores or train stations nearby. However, if you take a taxi, it's a convenient location to reach both Gion and Kyoto Station. Most of the guests were foreigners, and perhaps by chance...
Clean and spacious, with a quiet surroundings. The front desk staff were very attentive! 👏🏻👏🏻
The location is a bit of a walk, situated between Kyoto Station and the city center, which was a slight drawback. While the lack of nearby restaurants is a disadvantage, the hotel itself is pleasant and clean, making for a comfortable stay.
Really great! Clean, comfortable, and bright! The lighting is fantastic (even captured my friend's bed🤣)
Nice location, near bus and metro station, also the receiptionist are super friendly, we can check in early even if it is 7AM. 😍🙏
I still wouldn't recommend staying here if you're driving, as parking is expensive and very limited. Housekeeping only changed the towels and made the bed, but didn't replace the mouthwash cups. On the plus side, they provided two bottles of water in the room daily. Hygiene was perfectly fine, and there was a bathtub in the room. The downsides were that transportation was a bit inconvenient, the convenience...

After a very poor experience at another hotel, staying here was a complete turnaround. This hotel exceeded our expectations.

Booked a few nights here last minute when we didnt enjoy our current hotel.
Friendly staff and the room was ready even though it was a same day arrival.
Breakfast buffet is very generous in the morning with western and Japanese options. In the afternoon they have a sort of tea time as well where you can grab a drink, great if you think of passing by the hotel.
Right in centre of Kyoto City. Very convenient location for Kawaramachi, Shijo, all amusement just outside. Very safe for solo ladies. Western style large bedrooms yet traditional Kyoto luxury feel decor. Good value at reasonable prices. Loved it!
Stayed for a week in December. loved the location. Staff spoke good english so that was really helpful During our stay we had to ask for some help and staff went above and beyond. The only thing is that the aircon is centrally controlled so we found it was too warm. But other than that everything went well :)
A really great and affordable place to stay while you’re in Kyoto, incredibly close to a lot of great shops, restaurants, and plenty of bus and train stations nearby to take you around the city. Our room was very clean, temperature regulation felt right for us but it might be too cold or hot depending on your personal preference. The owners were very nice and checked us in early.
The room was spacious; we even had room to unpack our suitcases.
We stayed for two days, and our stay was comfortable.
The room was very clean, though a bit far from the station. It was quiet at night, and there's a convenience store nearby.
A unique experience staying in a traditional guesthouse! The hotel is located in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood, with a Family Mart nearby. A variety of cafes are within a 15-20-minute walk. Several subway stations with different lines connect you to Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara. The hosts don't speak English, but we can easily discuss all the details with the help of a translator. The breakfast is delicious...
Everything was great. Just like in the movies. All the hosts were attentive and caring. The mini onsen was magnificent.
It was clean and hygienic, but for some reason they kept asking me when I was going to take a shower, as if they were urging me to do so. Maybe I arrived too late. The first floor is their living area, and the second floor has been converted into a guesthouse.
The lady boss always sounds impatient. You need to tell her what time you want to take a shower. You need to walk 1km to reach the Tamba Bridge. Overall, I don't recommend it.

The hotel has an excellent location right in the city center, with everything within easy reach. It is modern, clean, and well-maintained. The breakfasts can become a bit repetitive over six days, but we were never left hungry.

Loved this hotel and everything about it. Rarely would I stay at a hotel again, but for Hotel Musse I will for sure return. The location is excellent, amenities are self service on the 2nd floor, love the shampoo/conditioner/body wash that the hotel provides. Great location, very convenient for getting around. The hotel is small but cozy and clean.
Easily the best hotel we have stayed in Japan. Servic is great and room is clean. They even have matcha counter at the common area. Our favourite is the location. It's within walking distance from metro station and bus station. There's also a big supermarket just next door (you can see a lot of locals get their grocery there. Cheap sushi 🤤)
The hotel isn't too far from business and tourist spots. You can walk there in 20-30 minutes, or catch a bus right outside the hotel. They also offer a free breakfast with standard bread, coffee, and juice, which I thought was a nice touch.
This was the second hotel we stayed at during our Kyoto trip, and I booked it last minute on Ctrip, but it turned out to be an amazing find!

Excellent location and clearness, good value for money
One of the most beautiful hotels we’ve stayed in, centrally and conveniently located. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
There are two key things to be aware of when booking this hotel:
First, regarding occupancy: If you are traveling as a couple, you absolutely *must* book for two people. Even if you reserve a twin room, failure to book for two will result in an additional per-person fee and taxes being charged upon arrival.
Second, concerning housekeeping: Our room was not cleaned once during our three-day stay....
A truly comfortable stay. The hotel boasts a fantastic design aesthetic, from the lobby to the rooms, seamlessly blending Japanese aesthetics with modern design. The in-room lighting is superb, and both the bed and sofa were incredibly comfortable. The space is generous enough for two people, so it never felt cramped. The location is superb; it's in a quiet area, yet just a short walk to bustling areas...
An excellent hotel. This chain is consistently reliable, so you can't go wrong. The price offers incredible value for money, especially for Kyoto. I recommend booking on a weekday. The facilities are excellent, and the rooms are spotlessly clean and tidy. It's quite popular with Western (European and American) tourists.

This hotel has many advantages.
First and foremost, the service attitude is absolutely fantastic. The staff were incredibly proactive and helpful during check-in and whenever we needed assistance.
The cleanliness was excellent. We stayed for three days, and while they didn't do a full clean every day, someone came by daily to empty the trash, replace towels, and do a quick tidy of the bathroom.
...
No major complaints.
It's about two subway stops from Kyoto Station on the Karasuma Line, I think? It's a bit of a walk from the station, but once you turn the corner, you can see the hotel right away. There's a Lawson nearby.
