Kyushu, Karatsu, 1783 Kyomachi 🧭 Map
Decent room size for Japan. Mattress was comfortable. Lots of eateries just downstairs. Would be good if there were more power sockets in the room though
All in all is good in the area for this price range. One shower in the 8 beds dorm could be too little if most needs a shower in the morning before checking out by 10 am
Escaping the high hotel prices in Fukuoka on a Saturday, I took the subway for an hour and a half to Karatsu and chose this hostel.
The experience was great. It's in a small city, just a five-minute walk from JR Karatsu Station. The front desk had instruction manuals, and the staff's English was fine. The check-in iPad supported Chinese.
The room had two separate restrooms and one shower room.

The hotel is in a very convenient location and overall the place is quite clean. Our room did have a noticeable smell when we checked in, but having an air purifier in the room helped manage it. The staff were friendly and pleasant to interact with. Overall, it was a good stay with just a minor issue.
Close to the station and generally very clean. Everyone was very considerate. The black tea at breakfast downstairs was particularly delicious; it had a unique aroma. There are many great restaurants nearby, and everyone was very welcoming. Karatsu was my favorite part of this trip.
The room was clean, hygienic, and comfortable. The ambiance was elegant, warm, and romantic. It's conveniently located very close to the train station.

The room was very comfortable, and the front desk staff was very helpful and helpful. We were very grateful! The hotel is located on a high ground, and even the underground floors can see the sea, and you can see many stars at night.
This is truly a hidden gem of a hotel with great value for money. The hospitality, room size, cleanliness, and breakfast all earn it 5 stars. I'll never stay at a resort hotel again lol. I'll definitely stay here again when I visit Ishigaki ^ ^
Nice small hotel. The room is very spacious with a balcony overlooking the sea. There is everything you need. The staff is very nice. The location itself is in a deserted place, it makes sense to stay only for a day or two. There are no shops in the area, restaurants only in the hotel on the coast and they work on schedule at certain hours. So it makes sense to stop by the store and buy groceries for...
I had a very comfortable stay. It was quiet and clean, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious. It was also nice that the bathroom was separate from the toilet and spacious. The welcome drink of awamori was also great. In addition, the library in the basement has a good selection of comics, and I thought that it would be okay even if I had to stay in my room due to a typhoon because I had a collection...
It is a beautiful hotel. The view from the veranda on the 2nd floor is wonderful with a good view. A 200m walk from Fusaki Beach Resort, you can also use the beach. Other facilities are available for a fee.
This hotel is cheaper than Fusaki Beach Resort and the rooms are comparable. Please consider it when you go to Ishigaki Island 🙆 (I also stayed at Fusaki Beach Resort, but it was a wonderful place...
I used it for 2 nights in early November.
I made a reservation in August, but I couldn't go because of the corona, so this time.
The telephone response at this time was a good impression, so maybe a great hotel
I was expecting what it was.
It was my first stay in Ishigaki, but as expected, it was a great answer.
I was impressed by the natural and warm response of all the staff.

The lady there was very kind and the homemade breakfast was delicious. However, the facilities are too old and the room floors are worn out.
The check-in was smooth and the room was clean.
Thank you.
The hotel is very similar to the style of Hawaii in the United States. You need to drive to get there, but it is very cost-effective. There is a swimming pool, which should be very comfortable in summer. It is not far from Manzamo. It is quiet and comfortable.
They are kind and
The room is a bit old, but the appliances are also old,
but they work quite well. I wonder if the refrigerator will work, but it works very well.
Hmm, you can think of it as a slightly old Gapyeong pension!
The entrance was near the parking lot, so it was easy to take in and out luggage. I would like to use it again.

It's very clean considering the price.
When the person next to me started watching TV without earphones, it was really noisy and annoying.
I wonder what I should do next time I see them...
It's located in front of Oita Station, so it's very convenient. Plus, there's a convenience store right outside the hotel's first-floor entrance.
Soft drinks are available all you can drink.
There's no staff at night, so that might be a bit worrying, but...
When I stayed, everyone was quiet, so I was able to sleep soundly without earplugs.
Good news for (young) men! You can watch XXX videos for free...
It's good that it's close to the station, has all-you-can-drink juice, and offers unlimited manga reading. ...But the biggest drawback is that you can't lock the door to your room.
There is a safe in the room, and you can lock your valuables there, but it's frustrating when you think, "Hmm, I'd like to lock the door here 😓."
I can understand this if you're thinking, "I can't find any other hotels close...
It should be called a hostel rather than a hotel. Clean, good design and the location are positive points. However, the service doesn't run well: I arrived at 2.15pm, nobody is at the reception desk even though I pushed the call button (like instructions) many times, so finally I could not leave my luggage here and have to wait until check-in time (17h00)!
It is very clean and the staff is very accomodating❣️😍

The key collection area and breakfast area are far from the accommodation, so it's inconvenient if you don't have a car.
At the key collection area, there are both free and paid rentals, and they were free to use.

"Clean and comfortable"
We stayed as a family of four. Two of us had single beds, and two had sofa beds. It was very clean, like a room in an apartment building. I stayed for 3 days and it was a comfortable stay!
The rooms, toilets and baths were all clean.
I was a little bothered by the fact that I could hear the neighbors' voices until late at night.
I also ordered breakfast, which was very delicious.
It's made by one person, so it may take a while if it gets busy. You can choose from 4 types.
We stayed for two nights in early September.
The hotel is a little far from the city center, but that meant there was little traffic and it was quiet at night.
The room was clean and the Simmons bed was incredibly comfortable.
It also had a washing machine, so it was convenient to be able to wash our beach wear right away and use it the next day.

I didn't have to worry about other people, I could relax and do my laundry and dry it every day, so it was very easy when I got home.

I'm a little late in writing this review. I stayed for two nights from November 21st. The location, the rooms, everything was great. The owners were also very kind.
They came to pick me up even though I arrived much earlier than check-in time, and even waited for me even though my flight was quite delayed. We did a barbecue, and rental was only 1,000 yen. Why?! They also told me about supermarkets...
This cottage has a private beach in a very quiet area. It's right in front of the beach where sea turtles swim, making it a very pleasant place to bring children to play in the ocean. The kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils and basic seasonings like salt, pepper, and oil, so we grilled some vegetables and Miyako beef we'd bought and ate it at the table in the garden. We were able to spend a relaxing...
I generally agree with other visitors' reviews.
It's a great place to relax and unwind in the suburbs, overlooking the ocean. You'll experience a sense of tranquility you won't find in crowded hotels or resorts.
The square layout consists of four rooms. Rooms A and C face the ocean directly, while Rooms B and D face the side.
Rooms B and D also offer a bit of privacy, which was nice.

The view from the window is amazing.
You can also rent a car for 1,000 yen a day, so I think it's a great deal.
We even rented a BBQ set and had a BBQ!
The female owner was very kind.
It was a building with a rather interesting design.
The location was fantastic, and it's understandable why private beach rental villas like this are rare and difficult to book.
The private beach isn't in a bay, so the waves tend to be high, but being able to enjoy snorkeling without having to move was fantastic.

The room is small but tidy, and it's good for a short stay. Nice and quiet! The bathrooms and toilets are communal, but small towels are provided. A bit of a walk from Hakata Station, but there's a convenience store nearby.
The room was clean inside and out, and the tatami mats could sleep up to four people. The Japanese breakfast was quite generous.
However, the bathroom was shared, and only on the first floor. There was no air conditioning in the bathroom. The room was mostly lacking in amenities like chairs and teacups.

The owner's attitude is a bit cold🤣 but the hotel has Shiba Inu! Super cute💕 The location is very convenient! The area is also very lively, with subways, convenience stores, bus stations, etc. I would still like to stay here next time💕
Actually, it was a ryokan so it had a nice atmosphere, a bath, and clean facilities, but
I think there were fleas on the blanket, so I got a lot of scars on my stomach
I got bitten by fleas.......
This old house is fine for a one-night stay. Services are limited, including no hot water boiler and no Wi-Fi. The value for money is reasonable, but don't expect too much. Bathrooms are shared.
The room is a traditional Japanese tatami. The hotel owner is a very friendly old couple. There is also a staff member who speaks English so communication is no problem at all. The facilities are a bit old, but overall they are clean and tidy, and it is very comfortable to stay there☺️

This is a great place for outdoor lovers on a budget.

Big rooms and also a shared onsen which i loved
The house is a bit old. There are two elderly people in the store. If you don't speak Japanese, you can use translation software. There is a bus stop at the door, which can go to the airport and Okawa Falls. Remember to bring your own change, as the bus does not provide change!
My family and I stayed in a Japanese-style mountain view room for three nights. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

I recently stayed at a traditional Japanese onsen hotel, and it was an amazing experience. It was so peaceful and serene, and the entire experience felt like a perfect escape from the stresses of daily life.
The breakfast was simple yet delicious, offering...
Very clean, convenient transportation, rich breakfast, mountain view, very close to Yufu Station, good, but the hot spring does not feel natural
Family hotel, about five rooms, very warm and comfortable, ten minutes walk from the station. We checked in at 4pm and the communication was basically understandable.
It seems like a good place for those who are visiting alone. It was clean and I was satisfied with the price. I will go now~
According to the regulations, check-in is not until 4 pm. Maybe because of the hot weather and because we were walking hard, we were allowed to check in an hour early.
The location is also 5 or 6 minutes walk from the station, which is very convenient. The rooms are all on the second floor. If you bring a big suitcase, it will be a bit hard to move up there.
There is no separate shower in the room...

Facilities: Average, slightly outdated
Cleanliness: Needs further improvement
Environment: Riverside room, great night view
Service: Although there was a language barrier, the staff were warm and friendly.
Very quiet; a good night's sleep is more important than anything else for travelers.
Facilities: The facilities are complete and clean. The soundproofing is only so-so.
Hygiene: Clean and hygienic, no issues.
Environment: Located by the sea, the view and environment are very nice.
Service: The service is warm and attentive.
We were upgraded to a room with a view of Karatsu Castle from the window. The staff were very helpful and checked public transport information for us.
Nijinomiyahara in Karatsu Bay is less than a 10-minute walk from the hotel.
The Japanese-style rooms aren't ideal for older people; you have to change shoes before entering the hotel and there's a seating arrangement in the room. The view is absolutely stunning; you can enjoy views of Karatsu Castle from the room, especially the beautiful night view. The service is also very good; they can communicate in English.
I was worried about checking in because I arrived at 12 noon, but I was pleasantly surprised. The guesthouse owner was very friendly and welcoming, showing me around and explaining things. I was satisfied with the room, and the guesthouse was in a great location.
Facing the sea, it's convenient to go anywhere. You can walk to Karatsu Castle, Seaside Pine Field, and the showerheads of Yuri and Makachin. It's a recommended accommodation for the Yuri pilgrimage route.

Before getting married, my mom and I were looking for a cost-effective ryokan to travel to, and both my mom and I were very satisfied with this place. It was a quiet, country-style place that I would love to visit again. It felt like going to my grandmother's house. Anyway, I had a great time👍🏻
This was the best accommodation I've had so far in Japan. It's a great experience to live in a building that resembles a Japanese house, and there's also a private hot spring that families or couples can use together. It wasn't too far to walk to the tourist attractions, and it was nice that the area was dark and quiet at night! The bedding was soft and warm, so I slept well. ㅎㅎ

The owner's grandmother and son were very kind!
The bedroom is ok, amenities are ready. including TV, refrigerator, sink, washbasin thermos It's considered okay for people who have never slept together like in Japan.
Just across the street is an alley with Kirinko and famous Yufuin stores. Because it's at the bottom of the mountain, it's quiet and you can wake up to the sound of birds. When there are many guests, the large public bath is very comfortable to use, and although it's a little further away, I also recommend public baths with good quality water such as Onoma...
The food was varied and varied, and the taste was not bad for me.
am. There are not many places to eat due to the location, so meals are included
We recommend staying at
There is also a washing machine, etc., so there is no inconvenience for long-term stays such as on-site
I can spend it.
The point I want to improve is staying in the annex, so go to the bathhouse
It is necessary to go outside to another...
This time I was traveling to Yakushima with my family, so I stayed at Maedakeso, which is like a cottage!
There seems to be a Japanese-style room, but it became a cottage because it was a Western-style room. It was a bunk bed, so I couldn't deny the feeling of a forest school, but lol

It seems to be run by a family, and the location is good, far from the train station but close to Karatsu Castle. Those who arrived early could check in directly. This situation is relatively rare in Japan, which is good.
The hostel facilities are relatively retro, and the price is reasonable. It is close to the tourist attractions. You can see Karatsu Castle across the river in front of the door. It's a small hotel and it's a little inferior to the major chain hotels, but it's worth the price and it's okay. A bit far from the city center. The parking lot is narrow and the number of cars is small.
