We stayed at Ajour Hotel for five days during our first visit to Almaty in June. We chose this hotel through Booking.com using the breakfast-included filter, and the hotel's Instagram page also stated that breakfast was included with all room bookings. However, upon arrival, we were informed that breakfast was not available, which was very disappointing, especially for a long stay.
The standard room was extremely small and uncomfortable, so we upgraded to a Junior Suite at a reasonable additional cost, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the bathroom in the suite had a persistent unpleasant odor that remained even after housekeeping used air fresheners.
Overall, our experience at Ajour was unsatisfactory in terms of facilities and comfort. While the affordable room upgrade was a positive aspect, we would not recommend this hotel to travelers seeking a comfortable stay and good value for money.

It was quite far from the city center and clearly an older property, but overall, the ladies managing the place were genuinely lovely—warm in their own way, though a translator was often needed to communicate. At times, they might come across as stern or a bit distant, but I think that’s largely cultural. Coming from a former Soviet/Russian background, they’re not necessarily the overly smiley or outwardly approachable type, and that’s not rudeness. I’m certain they’re kind people at heart; it’s likely just the language barrier and different cultural expressions at play.
On our second night, the age of the building became very noticeable. The lack of soundproofing meant what I’d generously call a PG-rated moment echoed throughout the hallway—it honestly felt like an unintended evening performance across the floor. I assume the walls were just thin, but it was amusing nonetheless, and definitely a first for me to experience something like that in a hotel.

Communication is barrier, staff don't speak basic English, front desk is not friendly even you greet them.
The room is good enough for budget traveler for tourism. Bathroom no, toilet tissues, bath towel is too small, or nothing.
You can actually hear someone talking from the other room, during my stay, I heard from the other room having sex, they are too loud and it took more than an hour to complete their inter course.
Lastly, I don't recommend this hotel for traveler, i believe this hotel is good for locals since they don't speak English.
Breakfast is very bad, slice of bread, an egg, 2 slice of cucumber, a cup of coffee and sausage, very poor service.

Worst hotel ever employees doesn’t speak English and they have very bad attitude they don’t have system and communication among them selves check in feels like investigation

Not suggested for tourists. No one speaks English and they don't even bother trying to use a phone translator. Very poor customer service. They act like they wish you were not there. No elevator. Breakfast is either oatmeal or eggs. DoubleTree is the only decent hotel in Almaty that I have found so far.

Most cheap price hotel in almaty so adjust a bit ie city during office hotel 1 hour during snow 2hour to 3 hour due to traffic rest everything fine .Hotel having currency exchange beside and 2 or 3 great food incude a supermarket within 100meter.
