After a hectic few weeks following a house move we enjoyed just the most relaxing holiday at this lovely beach front hotel in lovely Nerja. I am just back from Nerja. Stayed in The Perla Marina . Wonderful hotel, great location. Beautiful restaurants nearby. Jamaica is well worth a visit. Ruskens for lunch and a good glass of wine. I have just returned from a wonderful stay at this hotel, we made an error with our booking and didn’t ask for twin beds, the Reception Staff kindly changed our room for us even though it was our mistake. We just went to the restaurant which is very spacious and has seating indoors and outdoors and by the pool. Food was tasty, they could increase the portions since price to portion ratio was pretty high.

Not enough socket outlets, a 1970's design thing that needs upgrading to cover our proliferating electronic devices. Same with lack of USB 3 OR C, sockets. We repeat in the apartments and we are very happy. We went after seeing a Black Friday offer of 117 euros in a deluxe room including breakfast and dinner. We already us ether Spa as we live locally and chose a night in the hotel as a break from cooking and to use the Spa. Very pleasant stay. Great for families with kids, with a great animation team especially Paqui and Carolina (my kid loves them). The apartment was great and the food was good. The only less good review is regarding the limit of one hour per day in the spa (including the indoor pool).

I found the cleanliness a bit lacking, and the air conditioning maintenance wasn't great either. For example, even when set to heat at 30 degrees, the air was still cold. Overall, it seems like a very old hotel, despite a recent cosmetic refresh.

The rooftop bar was gorgeous and Breakfast was good value for money. But the room next door to me had their TV on till Midnight most nights. I wear hearing aids and could hear everything The walks may be very thin but it was not good. So with this is mind I wouldn’t stay there again. Beautiful property in a great location. Be aware the hotel is rebranding from Kempinski to Melia and will be closed from Oct 1, 2025 until April1 , 2026 when it reopens under the Melia banner.
