Reviews
Stayed 4 nights. This hotel does not meet 5-star standards.
Arrived at 10am and asked to store luggage — there was no luggage room, and bags were left unsecured at the reception area. Returned at 1pm and the room was still not ready. I was asked to wait until 2pm, then offered a “free upgrade” for one night only, with a forced room change the next day. When I declined changing rooms, I was told my original room was still not ready.
The upgraded villa looked nice but was poorly maintained: worn and dirty bathtub, only one towel for two guests, no slippers or bathrobes, and a non-working room phone. The next morning, staff came at 10am to ask me to vacate with no prior notice.
The second room had more issues: dirty outdoor jacuzzi, broken railing causing loud noise all night, extremely hard bed, inconsistent hot water, visible mould, damaged flooring, and multiple electricity outages (including during showers). Toiletries were basic (budget-hotel quality) and not replenished over a 3-night stay. Housekeeping did not replace used towels or clean stained floors.
Location is also inconvenient. Although between Old Town and Patong, the hotel is on a busy main road. Grab/Bolt drivers were often reluctant to pick up or drop off. No car or bike rentals, and no shuttle to airport or malls, making transport difficult without private arrangements.
Staff were polite, but service was not accommodating or proactive. For the price, there are far better options in Phuket. If you’re used to hotels like Hilton or Le Méridien, I’d strongly suggest staying elsewhere.
This hotel is a disgrace to the Wyndham name. The property is old, crumbling, and badly maintained. It’s isolated on a hill away from Patong. Almost everything in my room was broken: the phone, the bed, and even the door, which wouldn’t fully close so anyone could walk in, it felt so unsafe leaving belongings in the room.
But that’s just the beginning of the nightmare, what came next was beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. During my stay, I was getting EATEN ALIVE by bed bugs. I have the bites, the photos, and the evidence of the infestation.
When I went to the front desk to report it and ask for a refund, they didn’t apologize or worry for my safety, they denied the evidence right in front of them and instead they called the police, I was so confused why the police would be involved, I was dragged to the police station and it felt very intimidating. I did nothing to warrant this other than report a bed bug infestation and request a refund. I was taken to a station, surrounded, spoken to in a language I didn’t understand, and pressured into signing paperwork accepting only half a refund. It was an intimidating and surreal experience that felt designed to silence the serious matter.
In the end, I was forced to pay to be bitten dozens of times and then humiliated for reporting a public health hazard. The psychological toll was immense, I left covered in bites, confused and traumatized by the experience.
I relocated to the Mövenpick, where staff treated me like a human being and the rooms were actually clean and comfortable. The difference was night and day.
If you value your health, dignity, safety, or peace of mind, avoid the Wyndham Sea Pearl Resort Phuket at all costs. It’s a dangerous, filthy property that hides behind a respected brand name. Travelers deserve to know the truth! This place should not be open for business in its current condition. DO NOT STAY HERE!
Located on a hill with no footpath either side of the road so you need transport to go anywhere but they offer a free hourly shuttle into Jungceylon Mall until 5pm daily.
Please be aware, that all the photos you see on booking platforms are very very old! It is faaaar from the real conditions of this hotel. Someone should report it for misleading information! It’s not 5 stars - it’s barely 1 star.
~ there is NO spa
~ there is NO kids room
~ no proper breakfast/dinning area - it’s closed down and another business is running food services.
~ restaurants are old and outdated, practically night clubs
~ facilities are empty, abandoned, damaged, dirty, filthy - no one maintains it properly.
~ pool areas are dangerous with broken wooden floorings, fallen palm leaves and visibly dirty water.
~ rooms are nice and very well designed. But lack of cleanliness: dirty cushions, carpets, curtains. We had a gecko in our toaster….
~ a club house is just an empty building with two restaurants in it, we accidentally went up to a top level and got terrified: broken glass, some hotel equipment that left behind in a horrible condition.
~ they had a Christmas tree at the reception area, I am unsure if they put it up too early or didn’t bother to pack it up at all. It looked awful as well, like someone just threw decorations at it. It shows that no one cares about this hotel at all.
Staff is nice and friendly, it’s certainly not their fault and unfortunately they are always under the fire for current issues of this hotel.
If you are a manager of this place, please read all the real reviews and please take some actions to change the situation, stop lying to people.
The time that I walked into the villa and room, I can felt that this room hasn’t been used for a long time. There were large ants and spider in the bathroom which is fine. However, when I open my bed, there were insects that was dead when I uncover my blanket. Asked for a deep clean the next day.
After I have taken the jacuzzi, I was about to use the towel in the room, shockingly there are shits all over the towel, not sure whether they were marks or fresh. But it’s simply horrible given I was about to clean my body with it.
Complained to the front desk, they only offer a late check out to 4pm while I have packed my stuff and checked out.
It’s okay for not being a 4/5 star standard but shits on towel is simply unacceptable. Nightmare of an experience.
Avoid this hotel at all cost, hygiene 🤮
Cleanliness is below par, housekeeping ordering any amenities takes 20-25 mins. Breakfast is below par with limited options. Definitely need a major makeover/upgrade.
