The amenities are great with some weird kinks. For example - the light switch for the bathrooms is behind the door on the outside of the bathroom so if you open the door you can't effectively reach for the light. It's a typical, old-fashioned European hotel. It's relatively clean and tidy inside, but it can't compare to the ones in China. Otherwise, there's nothing special. This is a relatively centrally located hotel, but that's the norm in Eastern European cities.

Stayed with the family for a week. The positive side: cleaning ladies doing their job nicely. Rooms big enough, big beds. Really close to the beach. Well, service in Bulgaria is poor. Fridge was not working in our room, we asked 3 times to fix it/replace it and nothing happened. Water playground was turned on only 3 times, then we were told it is broken. No one was taking care of pool surrounding. Bar is ok, but they dont often know how to mix drinks. We spent a lot of time at the casino. It is the biggest in bansko but much smaller than international casinos you might be used to. Great that they have a separate smoking casino but the doors remain open so you can smell smoke in the non smoking side too. A couple of hours’ drive from Sofia in the very picturesque town of Bansko, the hotel has ample parking space and is vary easy to get to.  Staff, more specifically reception, restaurant and servicing are very courteous and kind. The rooms are quite big and comfortable. It is very clean and there are a lot of hygiene and cosmetic products in the bathroom. Breakfast is good and there is very good coffee. When I will visit Sofia again, I will choose the same hotel.

Avoid the breakfast! It was by far the worst we had in the entirity of Bulgaria and certainly isn't worth its money. You got bakeries all around for that. The rooms were OK, although could use some maintanence. The showerhead was broken in a way that half of the water came out its back.

Siena Palace is absolutely amazing place to stay clean rooms, service is always great, breakfast is very good too. It near north beach which is IMHO best beach in primorsko. The hotel has quite a good location, close to the city center on the pedestrian street. The rooms are quite old and mattresses are quite bad, but everything is clean. For the price I got it from TUI.cz : one week all inclusive for about 400 € very reasonable. Near by the ***** , for older people it can be a bit loud, beach is about 200 meter , in hotel and also opposite is market, so if you miss anything in buffet or bar you can easily buy. I really enjoyed . Older reviews wrote about drunk youngsters - prohibit by high penalties!

I've been there in late May last year, during off-season. The personnel was extremely friendly, especially the cook who spoiled us and the chief-of-staff lady! The Samokov may hail from a different era but rooms are clean and very spacious great for the kids to hang out, much better than some of the neighbouring hotels. Basic facilities but ideal for a cheap ski break with family or friends. Very close to the piste (nothing is far from anything in Borovets). There were quite a few large groups staying but noise never seemed to be an issue. Considering you don't spend much time in the hotel when you're here to ski/board, it's ideal and would recommend for budget skiers.
