NOT downtown, but walkable. Breakfast is basic, but adequate. Rooms dated but clean and comfortable.
The girl who checked us in couldn't have been any nicer - a great first impression! Also on the "pros" list: Nice, strong shower. Good view from the room. Good OJ and apple juice at breakfast. Cons: The door sagged and a screw fell out of the lock in our room. My mom's room wouldn't lock at all. No washrag was provided, and the shower curtain would get all over you while showering. Something...
We stayed here for 4 days in October 2025 and honestly had such a great experience. The staff were super friendly and helped us figure out the local transport like absolute champs. The rooms were spotless, the breakfast hit the spot every morning, and the evening cake? It was delicious. Huge shoutout to the lovely weekend staff member who helped us store our luggage until we left for Keflavík in the...
Very good, cheap, good service, and decent breakfast
Nice hotel off the city center but walkable. Room comfortable enough for 4 people. It was like a duplex with 4 comfortable twin beds. Bathroom kind of small. Room did have some hot springs odor that was not pleasant but nothing overwhelming. Staff nice and courteous. Breakfast was very simple continental but lacked more types of bread or danishes.
The reception staff is helpful. Rooms are cleaned daily. On excursions, given the hotel's location, we're the first to arrive home! However, there are no refrigerators in the rooms and no shops nearby.

Bora is the real gem of this place, thank you for making our stay unforgettable!
Our recent stay at Þingholt by Center Hotels was absolutely fantastic — and honestly, you can’t beat the location, location, location! Situated right in the heart of Reykjavík, the hotel is perfectly placed for shopping, dining, and exploring the city’s top sights. If you’re joining guided tours, Bus Stop #6 is only a three-minute walk away, which made everything incredibly convenient. The staff were...
I stayed for 13 days, room 305. I felt so much at home I didnt want to leave. Location, can't really beat it, the sushi across the street was to die for. The staff were warm and welcoming, the hotel bar is a nice addition. As pricy as iceland can be, it was the best choice for me. Thanks to all the staff Phil from Toronto
Great spot, central to alot of amazing places in Reykjavik. Clean, comfortable, and friendly staff. Perfect spot for walking and exploring the city. Morning breakfast was full of yummy options, and easy on the wallet. Allowing the ability to splurge guilt free on other Iclandic goodies (try the shark) Great happy hour prices as well!! Cannot wait to stay here again on our next adventure.
Location cleanliness and amenities
Really good location, near the city centre area and the service is awesome. Super friendly service staff and bar tender. Hotel looks great and the rooms are clean. Just take note some of their rooms at the top floor has the constraints of the roof where the ceiling is slanted, you may knock your head like i did. And the lighting can be quite dim. Other than that, great room great hotel great place

Oddsson Midtown Hotel, Reykjavik1 / 19

Reykjavik, Grensásvegur 18, Haaleiti (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
This is a self-service hotel, so there's no front desk. However, the facilities are brand new, and the room isn't small. It even has its own parking garage, which makes for a very comfortable stay. The location isn't in the city center, but it's not far either – about a seven or eight-minute drive. Getting around is super convenient, as there's a bus stop right downstairs. Definitely recommended.
This is a self-check-in hotel. The breakfast is simple but filling, and the environment is quite nice. There's a parking lot, but you need a code to enter.
The breakfast was very impressive!
The room was clean and cozy, and there's a supermarket conveniently located near the hotel. The indoor parking was a huge plus, making parking very easy. The breakfast had a great variety, and the hotel staff were very friendly.
Location a slightly away from city centre however it’s convenient with car. Car park is available at basement with limited space. Breakfast was ok overall. The waffle and jam is delicious. Self check in but we didn’t encounter any issue during our late check in around 10pm.
Self service in everything , good location and worth it for the price you paid .

not a very good experience with this hotel due to facilities and service provided. we were caught up in a storm causing us to miss the first night of our check in. tried to ask for cancellation but not allowed, which was fair enough. And since we had to check out before 7am the next day, we asked if we can get 6 sets of breakfast to go (free breakfast included in our stay). Our request was declined...
I think the hotel is a bit old with no dry and wet separation, but good location and nice staff there.
Well located and only a short walk to the city centre-old town. Bathrooms/shower is too small for use. Beds are comfortable. limited services offered at the accomodation.
The hotel is within walking distance of the pedestrian street. There are parking spaces next to the hotel. It's a typical three-star hotel.
The hotel has a great location, close to the surrounding area, including supermarkets, and there's a shuttle bus nearby.
In Iceland, where hotel prices are extremely high, this is a decent place to stay. The location is good, the room is small but clean, and the heating is sufficient. However, the hotel door closes after 11 pm and is opened after guests ring a bell, but the front desk staff were asleep, which wasn't good for making guests wait outside in the cold for a long time.

Fantastic location, handy for bus stop 3 for tours and what a stunning building! Staff are so helpful, can’t fault the place.
Great location and super friendly staff. We had a great experience at this hotel. Rooms were really nice, clean and well styled. We had so many questions being our first day in Iceland and Claudia was amazing giving us recommendations for restaurants, shops and the northern lights viewing locations. We hope to visit again.
Our first visit to Reykjavík, and Borg Hotel was the perfect choice. The location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of the city and within walking distance to so many great spots. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We also loved the beautiful Art Deco motif that gives the hotel so much character and charm. We would...
Great location, simple, clean room. Walls are a little thin, could hear other doors being opened and closed. There was some space along the street to drop off luggages, hotel recommended a couple of nearby parking garages which were all walkable even in the insane wind. Close to many great restaurants, convenience stores etc.
The location is perfectly situated downtown, the room was well appointed and confortable. The art deco aesthetic is everything! Very hospitable staff, I would definitely come back on my next trip out here.
Our room was clean and well organized, and the bed was very comfortable. It was easy to regulate the heat/cold by simply adjusting the radiators and/or opening the windows. The buffet breakfast was fantastic with lots of hot and cold choices. The hotel and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be coming back here on our next visit!

Nice accommodation and clean environment. Very convenient and central place of stay
Accommodations were great as everything in the city centre was nearby and the airport shuttle has a bus stop just across the street making it easy and very accessible. Would highly recommend.
Extremely good service, the hotel made perfect arrangement for check-in out of office hour. I could get my room key easily and I'm able to store my luggage afterwards. Millions thanks for the arrangement of the hotel. The room is clean and cozy, it is good for solo traveler. It got everything you need.
The hotel is in a good location, very close to bus stop 9, making it easy to get around. Restaurants and supermarkets are nearby, making it very convenient. The hotel is clean, but toilet paper easily falls to the floor, and there's no shelf in the shower room. It would be great if this could be improved.
Perfect location for someone traveling solo. Conveniently located to dining and shopping. Very walkable to anywhere no need for car rental or public transportation. I booked my tours thru Viator and my pickup location was feet's away!
Really good location for our need. At edge of city center, but close enough. Around the corner from bus stop 9 and a block from a very good food hall and 24/7 market.

Amazing services and the staff was very helpful and really nice throughout our stay thank you again and will definitely try to book if we come back here again :)
Lovely hotel in the perfect location in downtown Reykjavik. Walkable to everything. The hotel was immaculate, the room was great and the heated towel rack in the bathroom was awesome! Bring your own conditioner if you use that because they only give you shampoo and you only get liquid bath gel so also bring soap if you like that instead. And we could see the Northern Lights from our balcony one night...

A really clean, warm and quiet room with a large TV, fridge, safe, a kettle & decent quality tea & coffee. The bathroom is fine, and the shower flow rate is good. Breakfast is amazing and worth it 👏 & happy hour is also worth taking advantage of. Great hotel, the staff super friendly and service is amazing. Just a little nitpick is the placement of the TV position is a little odd. But the room is super spacious and with a little balcony that faces the seaside which makes winter night viewing in Iceland just on another level entierly.
The accommodation seemed old, but it was in good condition. The only downside was that the bathroom didn't drain properly. It's fine for a short overnight stay.
The shower was so tiny; the shower head is not adjustable so my hair got wet every time I got in the shower, the shower curtain clung to my body, and the water got all over the bathroom floor. The blow dryer worked for 60 seconds and then needed to charge for a full minute before using it again. The two single beds pushed together were not comfortable - I could feel the springs; however the pillows...

The Hotel Klettur is a delightful place to stay while you're in Iceland. The staff was extremely helpful especially in my moments of confusion with walking directions. I did have the free breakfast with my stay and was very happy with the offerings. It’s location in my opinion was perfect and the neighborhood was very walkable, with many places to shop and eat including a grocery store around the corner...
It would be better if there is hot chocolate provided in the breakfast, the heating in the room was unstable
Lots of nearby shops and restaurants to walk to, and a Bonus grocery store is just around the corner. ATMs are also close by. The bar has relatively affordable drinks considering how expensive alcohol at the bars are. The staff was great: helpful and courteous. The rooms get pretty hot with the heat running but you can crack open a small window in the room. Showers have adjustable height shower heads
The room size was decent, much better than what you'd find in popular European cities. The location is convenient, it's about a 30-minute walk to the cathedral or the pier.
We've been there for only one night. It was very clean The. stuff was very friendly. There was free excellent breakfast. After we checked out there was a dedicated place to leave the luggage because our flight was a few hours later. There was also a place to rest until your flight.
First off this place has an amazing location for food, museums, and rooms with a view. The breakfast was amazing and helps us save so much money!! Plus pick up point right outside the hotel. The rooms were amazingly clean, water tasted and felt perfect after each long day hiking. I highly recommend doing this hotel

The hotel has a great location and the service was excellent. It was a huge plus that we could check in as early as 11 AM on the day of arrival if a room was available. The only minor downside was that the facilities felt a bit dated.

Storm Hotel by Keahotels – 4/5 Stars A good and comfortable hotel that could easily be a 5-star stay with just a small improvement—adding a fridge in the room would make a big difference. Decent but basic hotel. Okay location about 15/20 walk from everything you want. Rooms are basic but clean. No fridge in room or safe. Staff are nice, cleaning staff are great. I stayed in REK inn for two days and highly recommend it. The room was very clean and the location was great, easily accessible by walk and public transport, not far front the city center, and next to the Bonus supermarket. The cost was great comparing to Icelandic standards. Highly recommended. Will definitely stay here the next time I visit Reykjavik!
The room here is quite silence and you can park your car freely outside the building. I mean at the other side of the street. I have seen the first snow in Iceland how beautiful we’re here and you can see the bonus supermarket near here. It’s only about several steps away from here.
A great place, easy to get to and ideal for providing a base to head off North West or to the south of the island. We had the double room with ensuite bathroom, clean, tidy & ideal for the two of us. This was a great hotel. The staff here are excellent and treat their guests as excellent as well. The rooms are big. A fantastic and modern hotel on the harbour in Reykjavik. Everything is brilliant. A particular highlight was the food at the bakery and the Le Kock restaurant. Our room was really modern and had everything we needed. Try a doughnut at the bakery! Careful with the downstairs park, it’s pretty tight!

The front staff were friendly and always available. The room and all bedding were clean. The bathrooms were of a public restroom style and the showers were in a locker room style. The kitchen area was a bit cramped for countertop space with no place to store non-refrigerated foods. The refrigerator was packed full and was hard to find room for my items. The location and price were great.
A good hostel/hotel. The students stayed in dorms which served the purpose and were clean with shared showers. Staff had comfortable rooms on the same floor or better rooms in the hotel above. Was a little crowded at one point as they had three big groups in, but they managed the breakfast sittings well. Good food in the packed lunches and for dinner was very good.
Very clean, pleasant accommodations. Staff was friendly, and helpful if you needed any sort of assistance. Great place to stay, walking distance to most shops and bars with one inside of the Hostel itself. I would definitely stay there again, but would probably inquire into getting a private room.
The location is really great - walking distance to the city center, but also one of the main stops for any tours/excursions that include ground transportation. Beds were clean and comfy though the photos online make the (hostel) rooms look a bit more luxury than they actually are. The bathrooms (specifically the showers) were not great - tiny shower stalls with vinyl curtains that you have to try not...
The lobby, bar, bistro and lounge areas are wonderful. But the rooms, kitchens, bathrooms are yucky. At least four outlets in the 12 bed room didn't work. At least two of the bed lamps didn't work. The beds are comfortable but 1. I had a hard time finding my room 2. I could hear that my neighbours were doing some stuff through the door in my room 3. Breakfast didn't have much variety. This is a fancy hotel but my stay could have been better
Great stay at the hotel. Booked a room including breakfast. The breakfast had lots of variety and choices and fresh produce, some of it local. The hotel staff was friendly and available for all request and questions. The rooms were good and spacious, a little bit noisy because of the door between the two hotel rooms. Located perfectly in the city nothing is ever further than a 20 minute walk anyway
The hotel was perfectly placed for what we wanted to do, the restaurant downstairs was exceptionally good, great food and friendly service. You could tell the room hadn’t seen any renovations in a long time, and there were what appeared to be dried bogeys on the side of our bed. Also, we had a double bed but with two single duvets - not sure if this is normal in Iceland but was certainly strange.
The rooms have good view of their snow-capped mountains. For now it takes longer though to move from the rooms to the ground floor since the hotel is presently undergoing renovation. Their Grilled restaurant on the top floor has 180 degrees view of the city. It serves good food & wine.
The refurbished rooms are nice and comfy with good beds. The old rooms not so good. Once the hotel is finished refurbishment it will be great. Only about 10min walk from town.

Fantastic hotel in the heart of Reykjavik, full of Icelandic character. The room was spotlessly clean, and breakfast was delicious! We will definitely be back when we next visit Iceland 🇮🇸
Great location, close to lots of restaurants and most of the main tourist sights - but on a reasonably quiet road so you feel out of the city centre. Very good service and helpful staff. Great choice of food for breakfast. Would thoroughly recommend!
Great location, within walking distance to the church, and they have their own free parking. The room was small, the bedding wasn't very clean, and there were no power outlets by the bed, only USB ports, which was inconvenient.
This is an old school hotel full of charm. We had junior suite. The room was a bit old but really beautiful. The rooms have physical keys rather than cards to show how old. The location is close to most of the good sights. Lastly our 4th floor room had a great view of the city.
The hotel was in a fantastic location and rooms were really comfortable and quiet. Would highly recommend
Hotel Holt is an elegant, well-located property in a central yet quiet area of Reykjavik, making it convenient to explore most of the main attractions on foot. Great location, free on-street parking. They had a hair dryer and it was comfortable.
It was in a quiet residential area, and it felt safe.
We were looking for a cheaper option in the city. The hotel was adequate, but with the limited rooms there was no staff to support. Door “keys” are punch codes, which were not responsive, it took many attempts with the codes to get into our room each time. Easy drive to downtown tourist area.
It was like a DIY motel with no one on duty most of the day. You had to have a code to enter. I called ahead about early check in and was told it would depend on availability. However when we got there, no one was there and we couldn't use our code at the entrance until exactly 3:00. The breakfast was great.
