Florence, Piazza Santa Maria Novella 1 (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Traveled to Florence alone this summer for the first time. I cannot say enough good things about Hotel Santa Maria Novella! The staff were very friendly, accommodating, and so helpful. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. The daily breakfast was wonderful. I really felt safe and welcome for the entirety of my stay. Grazia!
We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Hotel Santa Maria! From the moment we arrived, the customer service exceeded every expectation. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our stay memorable.
The amenities were top-notch — beautifully maintained rooms, comfortable beds, and thoughtful touches throughout the property. The location couldn’t have been better — close...
a beautiful hotel with nice location
Absolutely 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Staying at this hotel was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Florence. Experiencing modern and luxurious amenities inside a historic building in the heart of the city created such a beautiful memory.
From the moment we arrived until check-out, everything was excellent. The reception staff were polite, professional, responsive, and very welcoming.
The room was clean, quiet...
This hotel was amazing! The service was impeccable. It was also extremely kid friendly. Upon arrival they gave my daughter a bunny stuffed animal as a gift. They also had the crib set up in our room with a baby bath toiletry kit! I would love to stay here again!!
Fantastic stay at Hotel Santa Maria Novella! We were surprised with an upgrade to the Honeymoon Suite — the only room with a balcony overlooking the square. Spacious, beautifully decorated, and perfectly located within walking distance of the train station. We loved watching the nightly performances in the square from our balcony. Water pressure and temperature were amazing, though be cautious getting...

We were there in April 2025. The service was beyond excellent, the hotel and grounds were breathtaking, and the food was very good. I would highly recommend staying there and we will be back soon.
The best hotel we have stayed at.
Its quiet luxury in terms of service - the hotel staff at all levels are down to earth and treat everyone equally and kindly and their service does leave you wanting for anything.
It was worth every dollar.
Paul, their head concierge, is beyond exceptional. Provided a lot of help with day trips and recommendations that we took and loved. They even helped with...
Exceptional service, beautiful hotel that exudes class. The views from the hotel are stunning. Nothing compares to this hotel. We will be coming back.
The place is absolutely beautiful, down to every single detail. Breakfast on the terrace is unbelievable and the rooms are lovely. The staff are also incredible - in particular Klaudja who went out of her way to make our week special. We will be back
The property is the most beautiful hotel we’ve experienced. The staff was top notch and not a detail overlooked. Five star in every category.
Amazing property. It was better than the pictures and from the moment we entered the property everythin

Florence, 22/A Lungarno Cristoforo Colombo (45 min from centre) 🧭 Map
Room was very nice had a lovely river view, all amenities needed. It was very warm but we just opened the door and it didn't bother us enough to mention it too reception staff. Although it's a good 30-40min walk from the centre of Florence there is a bus stop literally round the corner that takes you straight to the centre in a round 15mins! It is situated on a main road but noise was minimal with...
I had an amazing stay at this hotel in Florence. Everything was perfect, the service was excellent and the staff were always kind. The view was absolutelyt beautiful and made the experience more special. The spa was also fantastic, relaxing and well maintained. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Firenze .
The service at this hotel was very good, and the room was relatively comfortable. However, on the night I checked in, I noticed the sheets likely hadn't been changed as there were stains on them, which was a bit off-putting. The hotel breakfast was excellent, and the waitress at the ground-floor bar was very nice. Mr. Polo at the front desk was very thoughtful; he helped arrange a taxi and recommended...
A very satisfying stay! The hotel's location is excellent, with almost all of Florence's major attractions within walking distance. The staff were friendly and efficient, proactively helping with luggage and providing helpful maps and guides. The room was clean and tidy, and the comfortable bedding ensured a good night's sleep. The breakfast selection was extensive, and their freshly brewed coffee...
Incredible stay! Beautiful location, view! Delicious breakfast! Def will stay again
This is a new clean hotel, No frills but decent amenities, good service, good condition. The hotel is located far from City center and it’s not always easy to find a taxi not much to see in the area. The hotel is new and clean, but feels a lot more like a four star than a five

Florence, Via dei Conti 9 (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Hotel Firenze Number Nine is a true 5-star gem in the heart of Florence. It’s just a 7-minute walk to the Duomo and about 15 minutes to Palazzo Vecchio, the Uffizi, and Accademia. The location is surrounded by excellent local restaurants away from the typical tourist traps.
The hotel is immaculate and the staff is incredibly warm and helpful. They really went above and beyond trying to accommodate...
The hotel room was spacious and had a nice atmosphere. The location was excellent, making it convenient to get around. All the staff were friendly, so I was very satisfied.
This hotel is an absolute gem! Staff, in particular Saeed, are super helpful. I normally only stay at larger chain hotels, but after staying at Hotel No. 9 I will look for more brands like this. The entire hotel is very well kept and elegant. The location is great, near great restaurants and shopping. Stay here when in Florence.
It's a bit different from how it used to be, but the staff are friendly and the rooms are well-cleaned. The absolute best part? The Duomo is just a 5-minute walk away, haha! Other spots are also easily accessible. The Central Station is less than 10 minutes away, and getting around to all the tourist sites is super convenient. I'm thoroughly satisfied.
This hotel doesn't live up to its five-star reputation. The location is okay (though Florence is small, so walking distance isn't all that far), but everything else is just okay. The service, in particular, is rather arrogant. They think they're a five-star hotel, so they're full of formalities. For example, they ask you to sit away during check-in and then bring it back after you're done, which actually...
I don’t often write reviews but this hotel warrants one! We arrived in the hotel lobby at around midnight with our two daughters. We had no booking, but rather had walked from our previous accommodations after finding cockroaches and looking for somewhere else to stay. We were actually on our way to another hotel but stumbled upon this one and noticed it was open, looked lovely and had someone at the...

The location is a little far from the city center of Florence, but it is very convenient for the airport.
The room was a bit compact, ideal for a stopover. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was exclusively Western-style; the variety was decent, but not extensive.
Spacious room, complimentary breakfast.
Was an ok hotel needs a major overhaul and renovation though everything was super old and was kept well. The bathrooms were especially dated. Breakfast was good though and free, plus the free parking was a perk but limited.
Spotless rooms, attentive service, and a beautiful setting.
Clean easy and close to the airport. Smallish rooms but fine for a one night stay

Florence, Via Guido Monaco, 12, 50144 Florentsiya, Toskana, Italiya (in the centre) 🧭 Map
The hotel room is spacious as compared to the other parts of italy. However, we were given the room at level 1 and it’s relatively noisy due to the train, tram and people at the open carpark. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk away from the S.M.N florence train station. There are many hotel nearer to the train station as compared to this if that’s the main concern.
Clean, modern and convenient for walking to all major sights. Breakfast was great, lots of choice and quite tasty. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. My room was super tiny but okay for one person. I recommend asking for a room away from the elevator which was quite noisey being right outside my door and with guests chatting there.
Our experience was good. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious. The location is good, and a short distance from Santa Maria Novella station. They have a coffee and tea counter that residents can access free of cost anytime. There is a vending machine too. Unfortunately , it doesn't work most of the time. Overall, I had a good impression of the hotel.
Disappointed stay
Read great reviews about the place
Location was decent but not the best, still a bit of walk from the main Florence station
I was under impression that the place was renovated in 2022. It didn't feel that way, and much of the facilities and room decoration felt dated, worn and used
Reasonable for the price I guess, but there's probably better options
Everything is really fine in the place, clean place and excellent service, location is top and parking is really convenient. Unfortunately the noise isolation between rooms is really poor! You can listen to the people next door even when they flush the toilet or the cellphone ringing even in vibration mode, it was hard to sleep some nights here specially because of people close to our room doing noise...
We had a great time at this hotel! It’s in a perfect location, just a short walk to the train station and tons of restaurants and tourist attractions—everything from 10 to 23 minutes away, which is why we chose it. It was very clean hotel. Service and staff members were amazing. We had a great breakfast. The only point I'm taking off is the location, it is kinda a bit far from the city center. But not so far from the train station. Our overall stay was good. Thank you again!
I liked this hotel.
In my opinion, we have points to upgrade (as you see, is an old structure) but except this everything as okay.
There is a modern shower and comfortable beds. The localization is interesting, because you ar at 5 minutes walking from the train and 13 from Santa Novella.
The service is good too. All the employers are kind and always have give me the informations and gold tips.
The rooms were decent for the price, neat and well maintained. Hotel looks bit old but they have huge courtyard for parking and is a blessing if you need space for your vehicle in Florence. Can reach SM Novella in 13 min by tram T2. Tram station is only five min walk. The staffs are very polite and helpful and their service is one of the best highlight if this hotel. Good hotel to stay in Florence outskirts. I would recommend it.
staff is very kind.
i feel always the italian hotel furniture location is not adjusted to humanface.
this time, shower box is so tight, so i cant bend down to grab the soap on tje floor.

The location is about a 10-20 minute walk from the train station and main attractions. There's a supermarket nearby, and it's close to the central market. The breakfast selection is rich, and the lobby environment is elegant.
Enchanting hotel in a quieter part of the city but only 10 minutes on foot from both the baptistery and the station. The staff both at reception and at breakfast were wonderful- courteous, friendly and smiling (a special mention for Francesco). Super, super satisfied! 👍 The breakfast is a visual feast. Having breakfast every day is such a wonderful way to start the day. The decor is also quite new and very stylish. Excellent! 24-hour service. There's a small outdoor balcony garden on the 4th floor with great views. It's not far from the attractions either. This is definitely one of the best places I've stayed while traveling.
Good environment
Good restaurant, decent breakfast with a variety of options
Luggage storage available
Four-star hotel
Luxury and unique old-fashioned Italian style decor
Room upgrade provided, but something seemed off.
Nice clean hotel. Breakfast was 4 of 5. Ask a waiter for espresso or cappuccino. Some problems with cold water in the bathroom. Air conditioner didn't work, just moved air flow. So not the best choice for hot weather seasons.
No complaints asides from the rooms being outdated.

We booked Portrait Firenze for our stay in Florence after having a great experience at Portrait Milano last summer. I came to Florence while visiting my daughter at Syracuse University, and choosing Hotel Regency was the best decision. The service here is exceptional — warm, personalized, and genuinely attentive. Stayed here for a city weekend break. Location is fantastic, five minute walk from main train station and approx 10-15min walk to main attractions through Florence. We first stayed at this hotel with other family members in July, taking two rooms. The front desk is super professional. The staff members are multilingual so if your Italian is needing some work, they happily switch over to avoid any miscommunication. Call or if only data on cell, use the Hilton app to chat!
The restaurant is not bad, "hotel food" that excels on food for meetings or conferences if that says anything. But at the least, it is plain enough if it is still dark for...

Great hotel! We got there and were greeted with a Mimosa social hour they have most days around 5pm. The front customer service was exceptional. Very friendly staff and cleaners. I seldomly sleep well while traveling. But the beds were perfect and I slept so cozy. My back didn’t hurt. The breakfast was my favorite! The croissant quality was perfection. They were warm and layered. I’m currently in Rome...
Spent few days here with my family, absolutely enjoyed the stay.
Staff very friendly and helpful, shout to Vittoria; rooms are clean and the view is breathtaking.
Not to mention the breakfast that is one of the best ever.
Totally recommend!
We flew to Florence for a honeymoon without reservations anywhere and we stumbled into this hotel and was immediately greeted with smiles and warmth. They couldn’t have been more accommodating to us during our stay.
Every staff member in the hotel was engaging, positive, and helpful. Habiba ran breakfast in the morning and was so welcoming and attentive! She is incredible and a huge asset to this...
Perfect location, accommodating staff, clean, very comfy, nice breakfast. Just delightful!
The breakfast was spectacular! Every variety of food, and some variation each day. Cereals, eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, pastries, choices of milk, even macaroons!
Our stay was excellent. All staff were wonderful and attentive, especially Laura. She was so helpful with arranging our transfer to Naples .

I particularly love the authenticity of the building being hundreds of hundreds of years old and yet well cut, beautiful staff beautiful spa only lacking in the dining aspect but everything else was perfect. Highly recommend but recommend going out for dinner.
I cannot give this property and its staff enough credit! From our our excellent check-in with Elisa to any issues we’d need in the evening with, Jacobo, all of our needs were met. The chic, yet comfortable interiors were a breath of fresh air. The property and our bedroom were impeccable! I will recommend this hotel to my friends and family and will absolutely stay here agin!
Everything was wonderful! Our room was beautiful and clean. The staff was outstanding and the food was great!
Overall the property was great for our needs. It was very convenient for us because it had parking on the premises. The staff was amazing and the king room was beautiful.
The only drawback is that it was a bit of a walk from the city center.
Stay in this wonderful little hotel on our trip to florence. The weather was really warm so when we stepped into the hotel the air-conditioning was immediately noticeable and a great relief from the heat. We were greeted by a lovely lady that was very kind and help us check in very quickly. They offered us coffee or a cold drink on arrival which I though was a lovely touch but we just wanted to get...
Excellent service through and through. A hotel that treats its clients like royalty with their attention to courtesy, friendliness and total availability to assist at all times. We visit this hotel yearly every time we visit Florencs as it is a second to none for us. Special mention goes to Elisa for her utmost support.
