The room was spacious, which was great for traveling with kids. There's a supermarket on the first floor, and plenty of convenience stores and restaurants nearby. It's an ideal location, very convenient for getting to Mount Hakodate and the train station. There were always taxis waiting right outside the door.

I booked this place quite last-minute. I originally wanted to stay at JR Inn to avoid dragging my suitcase through the snow. However, to my surprise, it wasn't hard to get here because there's a covered walkway connecting it to the JR station. It's also very close to the ski bus pick-up point. All in all, it's a great alternative if you can't get a room at JR Inn or OMO7.

The breakfast at Vessel is so good, here’s how to enjoy it to the fullest. In Chainsaw Man, Fami says that the secret to pig out yet staying slim is to drop massive ordnance afterwards. Quite an old hotel that needs a renovation. Rooms are typical Japanese size (not big). Airconditioning that like most older Japanese hotels are a/c in summer and heat in winter and cannot be changed. That said, ventilation ca be turned off and the window can be cracked open.  Staff were very nice and friendly.

Hotel Kunugigaoka Otaru is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful city, right by the sea. It's conveniently located, perfect for a snowy stroll. I enjoyed delicious 'chame' barbecue, visited the Music Box Antique Museum, and the Japanese Ukiyo-e Art Museum, among other places.

When I checked in, I received Chateraise Baumkuchen. The hospitality felt truly luxurious, like a proper hotel experience. The spa was spacious, and the open-air bath in the snow was absolutely amazing. The breakfast buffet had a great variety, and the desserts and ice cream were the same delicious Chateraise products you'd buy in their stores – I ate so much! I had to go to a conference, but I wanted to make some fun memories for my kids, so I stayed here with them, as it has a pool. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Two of the water slides were closed, so it seems they're only open every day on weekends this month. Even without them, we were able to play in the pool until 9:00 PM and then relax in the hot springs.

The buffet had a variety of options and was delicious. I was able to eat a lot of crab, which was great. There was a TV in the bathroom in the room. The pool and hot springs were great. If you're afraid of heights, the elevator might be scary... I'll post a photo, even though it's not very photogenic.

The lobby has a very upscale feel, but the rooms are quite ordinary with older facilities. It seems to primarily cater to people who come for skiing in the surrounding area. If you're not skiing, it's probably not worth the price.
