Far from the center, Tole Bi Street is always jammed with traffic, and so are the buses. Breakfast is inedible. There's no elevator; if you have health issues, only the first floor. There's no light by the beds; the general light only turns on when you enter. Internet access is available, so if you need to access it, you can do so through your account.

I went there without much expectation, but the bed was bigger than I thought and the room was bigger, so I was able to rest comfortably.

The Brown Hotel has all the necessary tools to enjoy a calm and relaxing stay. The price was high above the average prices to compare. However, it is worth it. Though it is a small place, you might find it difficult to reserve a room at a rush week.

I stayed at the New Chagala for 4 nights and I found the staff, rooms and food all to be great. Staff were really polite and helpful. Rooms were clean, comfortable and cozy. Food was good, different choices every night and tasty. Because of current situation, no beer unfortunately. Hopefully next time as would stay again.

Most of the rooms have old furniture. However, all are well heated in the winter time. For breakfast they offer porrage, fruits (mainly sliced orange, grapefruit, mandarins, apple and banana), cheese, baked potato, yogurt, juices, cornflakes, muesli, milk, coffee and tea. Also, you may order omlette. TV has many chanels in different languages. Internet via free WiFi gets really slow in the evenings...

Love this hotel and delicious breakfast every morning, especially after being in Tengiz for 2 months! Plus, there's a calisthenics park very near right on the river. No excuses!

Nice hotel near the center of the city. Good resturant. Wifi connection is free in the hall, in the room internet connection is available via cable but may be an extra (the cost is about 10 euros/day) Standard room are not big but are clean and confortable.

We stayed at this hotel again, and as always, everything was excellent. It's 25 minutes from the airport. The location and parking are excellent. Breakfast includes a choice of porridge or scrambled eggs, so there's plenty to eat. The room includes a hairdryer, dental kits, razor blade, and shampoo.

Great stay at Hotel Lion. Rooms are perfectly clean and comfortable. Although its a little further away from the center, downtown is easily reachable by Yandex and there are also many restaurants nearby. Airport is also only 10 minutes away. Narik is a very generous and helpful host.

Not excellent but ok for the price, spacious & close enough to the main touristy areas. Use uber if you can because the taxi company they use might be unnecessarily expensive. They might make mistakes in your reservation & not compensate.

It was an unforgettable hotel in Almaty. Cool wooden house and very good staff. Most of all I liked the bathroom). The bed is soft and pleasant. When you leave the house you are greeted by a trampoline, swings. Nearby is the central park. I advise everyone to go to this house to feel a real vacation in Almaty

Big problem with the noise in this hotel. We got a room opposite the reception and entrance door and the whole night we were hearing the reception bell and loud voices of people checking in and out. Hotel staff was very friendly and even offered changing our room but the only available room was next to the other entrance door so we declined as the noise leves was the same in that area. 3 stars not...

There is no elevator, so you have to carry your luggage yourself. The room had a very low ceiling, a narrow floor-level window, poor bathroom lighting, and slow Wi-Fi. Breakfast is fixed and simple, no coffee. On the positive side, the hotel is centrally located, clean, and the staff is polite.

I was there in September 2024 for almost 2 weeks. The room was clean and the included breakfast was great too. The service is beyond normal standards. The manager is great, she is definitely doing the best for guests and is going the extra mile. Location is great , we most time walked to many locations and you find many restaurants, cafes and shops close to the hotel. Very nice stay , nice team, nice...

I am a solo traveller and it was my first time to travel to Almaty. I have no other words to describe my stay at this hotel aside from being exceptional. My room was big, there was also heated floor which countered the chilly winter days during my stay, daily room cleaning and the foods at the cafe especial bfast buffet were amazing and filling!!!! I had a pleasant 4.5 nights stay with them! Room is huge and the is comfy! The room had a washing machine, so it made laundry seamless! Location is fine as long as you book thru Yandex. Sadly, only the cafe needs more work.. Many breakfast items were not available & the kitchen staff took too long preparing a simple meal. Hope you can look into it & make this hotel 5* standard!
