I go to Phuket every year, and this hotel had the most bugs I've ever encountered. However, the kids loved it because they'd find insects at night. The pool slides are also great and safe for children. The room was quite spacious, and the location is good. Overall, it's good value for money.

The twin room with a city view was terrible. It was on the first floor facing north, with another building just a few meters away that looked rundown and dirty. The air conditioning unit outside was buzzing loudly, completely ruining my holiday mood.

Good located hotel, close to Bangla rd and Jungceylon, but hidden from street noise. Breakfast was ok, but not exceptional. Complimentary massage in spa was excellent. The only problem hotel has is a "towel" issue. You can't take or leave towels at the pool, or ask for a dry one there. You can only swap it from cleaners, which is inconvenient and cheap for 4* hotel.

Everything was great! 👍 It would be perfect if they had self-service laundry. In Thailand, washing clothes every day is the biggest challenge, and drying them is also very inconvenient. I suggest they learn from domestic hotels like Atour.

Pros: perfect location just in a middle of everything, but in the same time its cozy, quite and peaceful. Cons: no walk-in shower in room, only bathtub with a rather inconvenient and even dangerous entrance (see photo). The staff prepared a birthday surprise for me, it was a total surprise and they organized so well that it was seamless!!! The hotel is perfect in the noisy and busy patong area. They have restaurant, spa, gym and pool... everything you need for a holiday!

Sugar Palms is a beautiful hotel. A quick 5 min walk to the beach which is amazing!!! The pools are wonderful with different bed/chair options. Breakfast has an assortment of different options. One thing to note the last block to the hotel is up a steep hill so not easily accessible for people with mobility issues.

Nice clean hotel, great location, great breakfast. Only negative and it’s a negative to take into account if you have any mobility concerns is the fact that the hotel is built on a hill. We were right up the top which required a mountain climb every time we had to go to the room. On the plus side the view was great from the top.

The environment and location are both pretty good, very close to Kata town which makes dining convenient. The service is also nice. The hotel breakfast, however, caters more to Western tastes.

Pool Access Room The location is convenient, but our stay had several inconveniences. The slope up to the rooms is extremely steep, so we relied on the buggy service (5–10 mins wait each time). They only let you borrow one beach towel a day. You can’t take two, and if your towel gets wet, you can’t exchange it. It was a wonderful stay, they gave us a newly renovated room. The room was situated on the ground floor and was an adjoining room as well. The hotel has a pool, which is really nice. My husband swam for about half an hour every day, and then he'd lie on a lounge chair and nap – he loved it! They also serve breakfast. Plus, there are tons of supermarkets and snack shops close by.

The room smells bad. There is a musty smell. The air conditioner is very noisy and I can't turn on the air conditioner while opening the door. The air conditioner broke down on the last day.

We upgraded to a room with direct pool access, which they offered upon check-in. The hotel is spotless, with friendly and efficient staff. You cannot get much closer to the beach or the main street for the shops and restaurants, but there was no noise to be heard. WE WOULD BOOK AGAIN WITHOUT A DOUBT.

Not great value for money. I paid over 600 RMB for it, but the facilities were really basic, like a guesthouse. You can pretty much imagine it's on par with a 150 RMB budget hotel in China. **Environment:** It's right near Patong Walking Street, so the location is convenient; you step right out into a bustling area. **Service:** The staff were neither particularly good nor bad.

The hotel is not new but we chose it for its location. We couldnt sleep well on the 1st night as our room on the 4th floor was facing the Bangla night spots and the music was loud all night till early morning. I had a very pleasant experience overall. The location is excellent — it’s close to all the main attractions, which made getting around very convenient. The service was friendly and professional throughout my stay. A minor issue was that the rooms were not well insulated, so some noise could be heard.

Stayed here for 4 nights in Feb. Location is very good - near Patong Beach and bangla Street. The hotel has an infinity swimming pool which is nice. The staff decorated our room for an anniversary which was a nice touch. They organize events everyday for guests. For breakfast - not much is there in terms of vegetarian options. Updated review: After my review below, the staff apologised and offered to upgrade our room. It was our last night, and we agreed as we truly could not stay in the original room any longer. The new room was so much better, more spacious and, most importantly, it smelled fresh and pleasant. Thanks to the reception team, we were able to enjoy our last night at the hotel. I stayed at this hotel for one week. Upon arrival, the reception was adequate and the staff was courteous. However, several aspects affected my experience. On my floor, there was a strong smell of smoke in the hallway. Top of the line hotel. Everybody is super nice right from the front desk when you first arrive. Ultra clean. Smiling and helpful staff. Great location. I would come back here anytime in the future. Special mention to the nice guy who helps tourists cross the street risking his life while smiling doing his job! He deserves a tip from tourists!

We spent 7 days here, and would strongly recommend the hotel. The rooftop pool is a lifesaver for the hot days when you couldnt be bothered paying for spots on the beach. The staff is friendly and extremely polite - typical of Thai hospitality. We particularly thank Anya from the reception team who gave us fantastic advice and support. The breakfast options are good. I got bored of them on day 5...

The hotel and rooms are decent. There is no view from any hotel rooms. The highlight is the roof top pool. Best place for infinity pool experience. You can also order breakfast in the pool. The location is good as you can walk down to the market in 10 min.
