YouDee Hotel Patong (formerly Meir Jarr Hotel) in Patong

It deserves one star only for the location, just a five-minute walk from the city center. Other than that, a terrible and unforgettable experience.

The hotel is dirty, and the so-called daily cleaning is done very poorly, especially in the bathrooms, which were often left in unacceptable conditions. Sheets and blankets smelled bad, something absolutely unacceptable for a hotel.

The rooms are not soundproof at all: you can even hear the television from the next room. To make things worse, there were constant late-night returns of drunk guests at 4 a.m., shouting, slamming doors, and making noise in the hallways, with no intervention from the staff. Sleeping was impossible.

The most serious and unacceptable episode happened at check-out. During the room inspection, they found a towel with a few drops of blood due to a “natural female period”. The towel was brought into the lobby in front of other guests, publicly exposed, while the staff claimed they had tried to wash it “with water only” and, since the stain did not come out, they kept half of the security deposit.

Beyond the money, the real issue was the humiliation, embarrassment, and total lack of respect and professionalism. Not to mention the mockery: with a bit of soap or, at most, a stain remover, the stain would have come out immediately.

A shameful behavior, completely lacking basic hospitality standards. Strongly not recommended.

A Location Only Stay

Unfortunately, our experience at Youdée Hotel was extremely disappointing. The only thing it really has going for it is its location in Patong. The entrance is tucked away in an alley, which already gives a cramped and unwelcoming first impression.

Noise was a major issue. The surrounding area is loud until around 5:00 AM, making it almost impossible to get a proper night’s sleep. While some improvements have been made to the property, the overall vibe felt like a scene straight out of a horror movie.

The rooms themselves are small, tired, and poorly maintained. The bathrooms were particularly off-putting; I did not even want to use the shower. Adding to the discomfort, sounds from neighboring rooms, including coughing and other disturbances, were easily heard, making the stay even less restful.

The check-in experience was also unpleasant. There was a person at the front door hacking and spitting, which only added to the run down and unsafe feeling of the property.

Overall, the hotel felt like a run-down, prison-like environment. I was relieved to check out and would not consider staying here again. This property might work only if location is your sole priority, but I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a safe, comfortable, and restful stay in Patong.

I hate their food. They are not honest. I ordered steak vegetable but just came without vegetable. Also last 15 minutes their closing time they opened bottle of wine. Worst place in the planet. Never ever go there...
