The room is very clean and quiet, and the breakfast is also good.
Great location, free on-street parking. They had a hair dryer and it was comfortable.
It was in a quiet residential area, and it felt safe.
We were looking for a cheaper option in the city. The hotel was adequate, but with the limited rooms there was no staff to support. Door “keys” are punch codes, which were not responsive, it took many attempts with the codes to get into our room each time. Easy drive to downtown tourist area.
It was like a DIY motel with no one on duty most of the day. You had to have a code to enter. I called ahead about early check in and was told it would depend on availability. However when we got there, no one was there and we couldn't use our code at the entrance until exactly 3:00. The breakfast was great.

We were very happy with this accomodation! The day we left, we had to leave at 3 a.m. and were therefore to early to get breakfast. Knowing this, the very nice and helpful lady of the hotel made us some sandwiches, which were waiting for us on the counter. Recommended!
This hotel literally saved me a few others from a long day of exhaustion. They welcomed us in and we're so very nice and comforting. After a mess at the international airport which involved a power outage, freak storm, and hours upon hours of lines, culminating in false hotel vouchers from the airline (because the original hotels never received the voucher bookings because there was no power), we made...
Great place to stay for a night or two. Very close to the city center and also to the wharf. The beds were comfortable and every room has its own private bathroom which is nice. My only complaint is that they put us to the dining room/Breakfast room and it was VERY noisy in the morning when we were trying to sleep. Beyond that it was very nice and the staff were very accommodating.

Clean and basic rooms, comfortable beds, nice breakfast.
The hotel is very quiet. Great location.
Great! The hotel was clean and the breakfast was delicious! The front desk staff were kind and spoke in easy-to-understand English, which was very helpful!
Overall, it was a nice hotel. Breakfast was included and it was reasonably priced. It was a little far from Reykjavik, so it was a 10-minute drive away, which was great because we could see the Northern Lights. However, the room door wouldn't lock.
Room was clean, staff was kind. Really like that it was close to the city but far enough to get from the crowds
The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. The location is fantastic as it offers free parking and close to a famous bakery, Costco and Sky lagoon. The breakfast is a typical Nordic breakfast which is very nice. Staff are warm and friendly. I will definitely come back again.

We had a lovely 3 night stay at Phoenix Hotel. The rooms were spacious and very clean, the beds were really comfortable. We had a small kettle to make tea and coffee which was good. Every night the beds were turned down and a chocolate placed in the pillows which was a really nice touch. The 2 managers were lovely, they couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was good too. All in...
The hotel is located very centrally in Reykjavik allowing you to reach every location on foot. The rooms are very clean and the service is excellent. The owners are always happy to share their insights on where to go or to give you directions to where you need to get. The breakfast is plenty to take you a long way through the day. Definitely recommend staying there
Absolute gem of a hotel. The bed was like sleeping in a cloud, so soft and comfy. Lovely and warm without the need to put the radiators on. Although we did use them to dry our clothes after a really rainy day. Everything you need is provided, especially if you do hand luggage only like we did. Hairdryer, toiletries, water, tea and coffee! We did bring our own towels for the secret lagoon and local...
Fabulous hotel in the centre of Reykjavik. Beautiful rooms snd very clean. The breakfast is fantastic. The hotel is on the main street in Reykjavik but in a quiet area. Our hosts were very friendly and gave us nice tips and information about Iceland.
A wonderful little hotel on the main street in Reykjavik centre. The hotel is beautifully decorated and very clean. The two gentlemen running it are very welcoming and gave us good tips on what to see in Reykjavik and around the city. Breakfast was fantastic.
Very nice small boutique hotel in the centre if Reykjavik. Very clean and beautiful decor. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was phenomenal. It’s on the main street but in a very quiet area. The bed is one if the best I had in a hotel room.

The accommodation was adequate, room was warm, beds comfortable. Kitchenette had kettle, microwave and fridge but no cutlery or crockery, we had to ask for it. The shower was very small, it was hard to move once you were in and difficult to control water temperature. Cheap accomodation.
Great location right near Hallgrimskirkja Church, easy walking distance to everything. Great for a short stay. I stayed the night before my ringroad tour and the night after and had a room on 3rd floor both times. Comfy bed and room was clean. Small kitchenette with microwave, kettle and fridge. Good single rooms for solo travellers at a decent price for Reykjavik. Bathroom small but useable. Decor...
Ideal for a quick stop before traveling on. Ideal location right next to Hallgrimskirkja church. Easy walk or bus to down town, where loads of restraints. Only 1 pillow which was very flat and toilet could do with a bit more of a clean. But generally very nice room.
Given an 'Average' rating, but this was perfectly acceptable for what we paid for the room. Very convenient for the town center (an easy walk down to road puts you on the high street), well placed for bus/taxi pick-up and put-down. Good value for money.
Not really a hotel. No TV or Kettle. Kitchenette with sink and microwave? Breakfast not available until after 09:00 in the Vietnam restaurant which also acts as the reception! Good location though. Bed & bathroom clean, but with a couple of cockroaches
Close to the cathedral and the bus station, the environment is quiet, the rooms are clean, there are many places to eat around, there are plenty of people, and the house prices are cost-effective. It is recommended

Good location, I will choose again this property
Good basic accomadation Good value for money but this is not a luxury hotel. Buses to city center nearby but it is out of town. Plenty of parking. A bit slow at providing us with room access details.
It was a different experience with no person to contact regarding questions. Questionable neighborhood, but in the end it was OK.
Curious stay, because check-in simply happened by phone for us to communicate that we’d arrived, to get the code to enter, and to know what our room number was. The place is clean and it’s a big three-floor house in the outskirts of Reykjavik, which is an interesting area to stay in, too. It’s right next to a big park and a school, very quiet and cute, and there are two huge and very soft cats in the...
This is a "self-help" facility. There is no staff. My room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. But shared bathroom and kitchen could use some TLC. The location is great if you have a car, but way out from the center (40-50 minutes by bus), so beware.

I stayed here for a week in a mixed dorm room, and overall, it was a pretty comfy experience. The dorms were clean and, surprisingly, very quiet. I chatted with a few people, but mostly kept to myself. The best part? The dorm was never full during my stay, and for a few nights, I even had it all to myself - which was a nice little bonus! The biggest downside is the location. It's quite out of the...
Good to stay on a budget. The breakfast is fine and the stafff are helpful and bedrooms fine got to socialise with people over the world however the shower I was having problems getting the right temperature
For what it is, it's fine i guess. The room and the shower was clean, the rest not so much. The tables sticky, the floor old and thus not very appealing. Take care of your food! Ours was stolen from the fridge by other tourists. Not really a fault of the motel but still very uncool. If you are a light sleeper, the you shouldn't stay here! The road is very noisy. Not a problem for me but something to...
Nothing worse than a dorm room. I got to the hostel very very early in the morning (around 5am) and the staff in the kitchen let me sit in the restaurant and wait until i could check in at 2pm. I decided to go for a walk around 9am and the young lady behind the counter put my bag with her and watched it while i did that. they ended up being able to check me in around 10am. Was quite dirty when I arrived...
The hostel was pretty nice, the staff was helpful but not friendly at all. The kitchen was good, bathrooms clean. The only bad thing is that the beds are so extremely noisy, every time someone change slepping position 'even carefully', all the people inside the room note it. Breakfast is normal, but, it is better to buy something in bonus and cook it.
Stayed in a 16 person shared room. Room was clean and so was the bedding. Cleaning staff came in around 9:30am to start cleaning the common kitchen/bathroom areas. There were utensils and cooking supplies for solo travellers to use which was nice! Comfortable common spaces. The bedroom did smell slightly bad, I would argue that it was most probably because of the other guests hanging wet clothing/towels...

Good and easy communication, clean rooms, free coffee and tea in kitchen area, and parking on street
Pros: Only a 15-minute walk from Reykjavik, and free parking is available outside the accommodation. Cons: Located on the basement floor, the accommodation had a strong damp smell. The toilet had no heating, making showering extremely cold.
Perfect place if you need to get the bus to Keflavik airport early in the morning. 15-20min walk to city center, depending on pace and where you're going. Super easy self check-in and check-out. A great location to stay if you need to take an early bus to the airport. It is located across the street from the BSI station. About 20 minutes walk into the main town. I stayed in REK inn for two days and highly recommend it. The room was very clean and the location was great, easily accessible by walk and public transport, not far front the city center, and next to the Bonus supermarket. The cost was great comparing to Icelandic standards. Highly recommended. Will definitely stay here the next time I visit Reykjavik!
The room here is quite silence and you can park your car freely outside the building. I mean at the other side of the street. I have seen the first snow in Iceland how beautiful we’re here and you can see the bonus supermarket near here. It’s only about several steps away from here.
A great place, easy to get to and ideal for providing a base to head off North West or to the south of the island. We had the double room with ensuite bathroom, clean, tidy & ideal for the two of us. Great hotel at a great price compared to everywhere else. It's about a 20-30 minute walk from the city centre but worth it for the quality and price. The room was clean and the area was quiet.
We stayed at that property for 3 nights. The self-check-in instructions were clear and easy, and had been sent one day in advance. It was a simple room on the ground floor in a house with a shared kitchen. Yet we had a bathroom in the room. It generally took 20 minutes to get to the town hall on foot. We had a pleasant stay, clean rooms and had to share a bathroom but never had to wait to use and didn’t see anyone else. If you are a student/on a budget this is good value for your money. Location is also great— near bus stops for tours and in walking distance of many shops and restaurants.
I loved this cozy hotel. Access in and out was easy around the clock. Key drop off before reception opens was also easy. Brilliant location in Reykjavik. Walkable to most places. The room was very comfortable with a large and warm bed. Make sure you get to breakfast early, as they were running out of food at 9am. I would definitely stay here again. It was very welcoming and comfortable.

Very well priced for a stay that was neat and tidy. Excellent kitchen facilities. Just a shame people don't clean up after themselves and left the kitchen dirty - no fault of the owner though.
The stay was fantastic. Our flight was delayd and we got to the guest house late in the evening, at about 11P.M, they left the key for us and the instructions where to find everything we need. Felt like at home. Super comfy beds, slept better than at home. Very good good decision if your on a budget.

It's OK The room was large and nice accoring to the decription. There was actually everything available what you need. The location (in case you have a car) and environment is great (parking, gym, foodstire etc.). There are just a few things which should be maintained and fixed. I stayed there 7 days, there was no cleaning at all and you have to organize new towels and bedsheets by yourself by finding...
Access to laundry was a nice convenience. Self-check in was simple. Only minor inconvenience was the mini fridge didn't have a freezer section.
I chose this property for the washer dryer. It was a disaster. The circuit kept tripping. Had to make a call. There’s only one set for the whole floor and the dryer never did dry the clothes. I had to hang my clothes all over the apartment. The shower and sink drains were clogged and the night light switch was broken next to bed. Also only one sleeping pillow per person.
Good location for driving into the city, free parking, and clean. We appreciated having a small kitchen to prepare our own food, with dishes and cutlery provided. Check in was smooth but it was hard to get sheets and pillowcases for the sofa bed (they were not in our room upon arrival and we had to go find them ourselves on another floor). No blackout curtains - the curtains are red so the best you...
Modern apartment near a grocery store and bakery. The unit itself was clean but lacked some amenities. There were no black out curtains so it was bright at night. The shower basin was too small and you had to shut the shower off several times to let it drain so it wouldn’t flood the floor.

This hotel had the nicest staff I encountered during my trip. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and very professional. Their warm attitude made me feel comfortable and cared for. I really loved staying here and would happily come back again.
We were really pleased with our stay here both times we've visited. Julia, Victoria and the staff there were unfailingly polite and helpful. The building we stayed in was well appointed and super convenient to everything we wanted to do. The only challenge here is parking, but it's possible if you pay attention. Plan ahead if you have folks in your party who have accessibility concerns.
We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Residence Apartment Hotel. The location in downtown was very convenient for walking to see many of the main attractions. Very nice guesthouse situated in a quiet area, yet close to central city. Owners contacted us before arrival to instruct about access to our room. When leaving, my daughter forgot her gloves and hat in the room. The owner contacted us and arranged sending the items to Sweden. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Guesthouse Galtafell. It was very clean with great amenities and a spacious bathroom. The view from the room was spectacular. We had a car and access to Reykjavík and out of town for sightseeing was very easy.
We had a room on floor 1. It was comfortable. The bed and shower/bathroom were good. It was clean. Doubt much maintenance is done hence the cheaper price. It was in an unbeatable location, though, easy to park and just 15 minutes into downtown Reykjavik...
As 4 travelers, it was great to have a place we could all have our own beds without getting more than one room. Grocery right across the street, 1 block off the main bus line, a nice restaurant a couple doors down. Would definitely stay here again.
Our stay was ok. The bathroom was a bit of a mess—the shower didn’t drain properly and didn’t have a proper door. Dirty water pooled everywhere whenever we took a shower. Amazingly convenient and well-stocked apartment. Nice and warm and close to everything. Only thing - TV is old. But then again, most hotels' TVs are. Also a bit of street noise - but there's not too much traffic so not terrible. Close to airport bus stop (about 5 mins walk) so we loved it.
I previously stayed in their two-bedroom unit, and overall it was a great experience. Both the living room and bedrooms were spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The location is also excellent. Very nice roomy and comfortable apartment near everything in the downtown area. We had the 1 bedroom on the 3rd floor, the space was roomy, had a comfortable bed and dishes for 3 to 4. Apartment was great, as was the location. Only two minor adjustments I would make personally - put felt pads on all the furniture, this will reduce noise for the apartment below. Second is the shower, place a bracket at an angle for the hand held sprayer so it doesn’t just spray you vertically!
Good, well equipped facility in an excellent location. Good, courteous staff. Only downside is location works against you at weekends late at night with street noise (unless you're one of them of course), so perhaps not best for young families. Recommended.

There's free parking available at the entrance, but it's first-come, first-served. I stayed for two nights, and even though the bathrooms are shared, everyone kept them very clean...
The location is amazing, the room windows looked directly at the Hallgrímskirkja church! The room is small but comfortable, the bathroom is clean. The staff is very friendly.

Loved being here. Very thoughtfully designed studio style apartment with helpful touches fit cleverly into a small space like quality kitchen tools, a closet, a tea kettle, soap for the laundry room downstairs. Even fruit, tea and milk were provided. There is some noise at night as this part of town is popular for partying but we didn’t find it bothersome. Great location with a bonus grocery across...
Nice home in a centralized location for bus stops and restaurants. Close to most city sightseeing hot spots. Clean with all the amenities you need including a stove top, microwave, kettle, hair dryer, coffeemaker, cookware, and utensils.
46Heima is a fabulous place to stay in Reykjavik. For us it felt like home away from home. For the same price as a nice hotel room you get a place that feels all you own. The location was great with tons of shops and restaurants a short distance away. Having your own mini kitchen and fridge really helps too allowing you to take home leftovers or buy something from the grocery store to cook one night...
Wonderful apartment, very comfortable and cozy, plenty of space for 2 people. The location is excellent with many shops and restaurants just steps away. We took a food tour that met at the concert hall which was about a 15 minute walk. The famous church is maybe a 5 minute walk. If you stay here you will utilize bus stop 9 for all of your tour pick ups/drop offs. It is 3 long blocks, about 5 minutes...
Wonderful experience! Excellent location and warm hospitality from the host. Should I visit Iceland again, I would love to stay at 46heima!
