Hotel Sardonyx Ueno, Tokyo1 / 30
9.0
Tokyo, Ueno 6-6-7, Tayto, 110-0005 Tokio, Yaponiya (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
Good location, between multiple train stations. On a side note, breakfast is not fantastic there so can give it a miss.
Great stay overall. The room was a standard size but very clean, and housekeeping provided fresh sets every day. The staff could communicate well in English, which made everything easy. The location is a big plus — right across the street there’s a 24-hour laundromat, and a FamilyMart is literally next door. It’s also within walking distance of the train station with access to several lines, so getting...
The location it's self is fantastic, close to jr,metro,Ameyoko street just right behind of the hotel ,the room is compact but still acceptable,,overall is a pleasant stay in the hotel
The hotel location is good and near to okachimachi and ueno station. It was like in the middle of both train station. The room was clean and alot of amenities provided. A reception staff (girl) is not so friendly and her face expression is not welcoming guest. Refridgerator in our room is not so functioning; not cold at all.But overall was ok.
Breakfast is a choice of five set menus. Toiletries and bath products for the room can be picked up in the lobby. The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the subway station, making it convenient for getting around and dining. The front desk also offers Chinese language service and luggage storage.
Stayed at this Tokyo hotel, typical in size for the city, but very convenient. The location is excellent—right behind the market and next to a FamilyMart, making it easy to grab anything you need. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free. The bathtub is a good size, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The only downside is that the curtain doesn’t completely block out light, so...

I booked this hotel because I suddenly needed accommodation for work. It's an average business hotel, neither particularly good nor bad, but it has everything I need, so it's fine.
Accidentally booked my room for a different date but the staff was super nice about it, excellent service and super clean room!!
Excellent hotel but most of all I loved the traditional Japanese breakfast which was a special touch.
Best place to stay for shopping in old bookstore streets in tokyo
They were so nice and helpful with our bags and room change. Best hotel for English speaking tourists and there r many Japanese guests as well
Enjoyable stay on arrival and coming back here for another 4 days after short trip north. Friendly staff and good amenities. Japanese rooms we have always found slightly small for us larger foreigners, but we aren't staying in the room all day it for showers and sleeping. Breakfast is very well priced Japanese food for 650 yen. Reasonable close to Metro.

Tokyo, 3 Chome-13-7 Akasaka, Minato, 107-0052 Tokio, Yaponiya (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The bed is covered by a curtain, so it's not soundproof at night and can be a bit noisy. Earplugs are provided at the front desk. Overall, the cleanliness is good; there were no stains. The shower facilities are complete, and it's suitable for a night's stay.
So far, it is the best capsule for me
Overall it's good, but it's not very convenient to take the B1 elevator to take a bath, but it's also a good choice for traveling alone
A very novel capsule hotel. Compared with ordinary capsules, this type of small compartment is much better. However, there are many small compartments in a closed space. There are many people snoring and smelly feet at night. It is really unbearable. There are many weird people in Japan, especially men. It is very uncomfortable to see people's shoes being torn and tattered. There are no windows, just...
This was my first time staying at this capsule hotel, but it was more comfortable than any other I've stayed at. I can understand why the price range is a little higher. In addition to the amenities and cleanliness, it also has a bath, so I feel like I was able to relieve the fatigue of work. One thing is that the location in Akasaka is a little inconvenient, but other than that I have no complaints...
This is my second time to experience a capsule hotel in Japan. It is as clean and tidy as expected, and the shower room is also clean! I highly recommend it to those who travel alone. There are also many girls traveling alone. You need to swipe your card to enter the door when going up and down the stairs, which is very safe.

Tokyo, 3-1-6,Yushima, Bukyo-ku (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
Great lil hotel. Great staff, some of them know English, some don't. Either way you can get any sort of help you need especially if you have a phone and are seeing this message. Also good price for the location and to get your own full sized bed. It's a 5 min walk from the main street in the Akihabara district. Also 5-10 mins to 2 other train stations.
Very clean. Big and comfy bed. Nice facilities. Amenities are better quality than usual. The room is small (mine was 11 sq.m.) but I think it's normal for business hotels. I only had a backpack so it was fine, but if you have big suitcases you might struggle a bit. So make sure to check the room size thoroughly.
Being walking a short walk from both Ochanomizu station and Akihabara station was really nice. Honestly wish I had stayed longer. I just wished there were more TV channels available on their TV for the late night anime cravings.
HVAC is weird. Restaurant is small. The storms about shifting your schedule were right breakfast is a busy affair. Area is fun and it was worth the price. But you may sacrifice sleep.
I stayed in 3 cities in Japan and everywhere is APA Hotel. Incredibly stylish lobbies, friendly staff and great facilities. If I come to Japan again, I will only prefer APA Hotels this time. The location is very good and there is constant room cleaning. Since the laundry is small, you can choose the laundry that is open 24 hours nearby. APA is the best 👌🏻
Its Apa, its decent. Stayed 5 nights 6 days it was within expectations. Breakfast was ok too. 2 things: 1. the bed is worn out, tilting to one side (there was 1 chair, so that side of the bed would be where another would sit down. 2. The bidet looked spotty dirty when i took a side glance. I didn't verify it coz that would make me puke.

Amazing location, walkable to a few different lines! Room is small (typical in Japan) but able to open a 26” luggage. No air conditioning during winter (Early Feb), had to open the window for ventilation which is a little noisy at night but still bearable.
Very very very very very very very very very very very very good!
Extremely convenient location! It's near Ueno Station, making trips to the airport cheap and fast. There are plenty of dining, entertainment, and shopping options around. Navigating the subway is also a breeze. I really enjoyed the breakfast; it was simple, nutritious, and well-balanced. The room is small, but perfect for one person.
Stayed for 3 nights and I enjoyed my stay very very much. I would definitely choose to stay here again next time! The room was very clean and cozy and even though it was small (on par with japanese standards) it has everything I needed. There was even a humidifier in the room!! Great for the winter months! Good location, very clean and very nice & helpful staff. Very recommended!!!
Stay for 3 nights (3/11 - 6/11) and was disappointed with no air conditioning in the room. Only heating service. The room were warm and hot. The corridor and lobby were much cooler. Near University of Tokyo. Ueno Park (Zoo) and Shopping Street are are within walking distance, approx. 24 mins walk). There are Family Marts, 7-Eleven and supermarts nearby too. Room is comfy and cosy, 24 hour self-service laundry is available at Level 2. Didnt try the restaurant at Level 1 even though breakfast/ lunch/ dinner are available and payable.
This was my second time to stayed here for two nights because it's near to Tokyo University. Amenities were really good so you can stay comfortable and convenient.
The hotel is up a hill, I thought I was in the wrong place at first. They offer complimentary herbal tea and coffee, and the service is good. There are also vending machines and washing machines (though only two, and they're often occupied due to their age).
I am writing a review for a hotel I stayed at and was extremely satisfied with. I was thoroughly impressed with both the service attitude and the facilities. The hotel staff were very patient and friendly—if you had any questions, you could always ask them, and they would gladly assist. The public areas of the hotel are elegant and clean, and enjoying a cup of complimentary freshly brewed coffee here...
The hotel was very clean and tidy. The area around it was quiet, and the front desk staff were warm, attentive, and helpful with local information. It's conveniently located near the University of Tokyo and Tokyo Dome City attractions, all within walking distance. I'd definitely choose to stay here again next time.
The hotel is quite close to the University of Tokyo, about a 7-8 minute walk. The overall environment is relatively quiet, and while the facilities are a bit old, they are clean. The service attitude is average, not particularly enthusiastic.

Everything was great. If I visit Japan again someday, I would love to stay here again. thank u!😊
Conveniently located near Hamamatsucho and Daimon stations, making it easy to access both Haneda and Narita airports. It's also very close to Tokyo Tower, with convenience stores and drugstores nearby. Shiba Park and Tokyo Station are also within easy reach.
The transportation is excellent, and you can see Tokyo Tower on your way to dinner. The hotel staff were also very good.
The front desk staff was very patient, the breakfast tasted good, and the room was relatively clean. Although small, it had all the necessary facilities.

We had a great 7-night stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained throughout our stay. The location was convenient, making it easy to get around and explore. Overall, a very pleasant experience—we’d definitely recommend it and would stay again.
Very good and interesting location and the great view of the city
Had a fantastic stay! The hotel is very nice, clean, and comfortable. The absolute best part is the location—it's right in the heart of everything and made exploring so easy. Highly recommend if you want to be close to the action!
This area is less crowded, with a couple of malls nearby like Parco and Termina, so food and basic amenities are easily accessible. I really like that the room and bathroom are more spacious than usual. I could fully open my two large suitcases and still have space to move around. There’s also a humidifier in the room, which helps a lot with the dry air. We book a 2 single bed room and it fits perfectly...
The location is incredibly convenient! It's super close to the subway station and shopping areas, saving us a lot of time getting around for shopping, dining, and sightseeing. I spent a long time in the lobby because the staff was awkward at using the check-in machines. It would be better if they spoke better English or let people use the machines themselves.
A very good hotel with a comfy bed let down by central climate control making the room too hot (23-34C).
My wife and I stayed there; the room was up to Japanese standards, conveniently located near the metro station, and the hotel staff were very helpful.

Great location and area that can be animated while staying calm at night (supermarket, convenience store, restaurant and bars, bookoff and mitsukyo and Uniqlo) Complete amenities, room are small but manageable, kept clean however there was a persistent smell overall even after spraying half a bottle of febreze like. If you are picky it can be challenging, there could be other room less smelly
Clean room. Walking distance to both Gotanda Metro and JR line. Convenience mart and supermarket right just around the corner of the hotel.
Location is good. Small local grocery store near by. Room is clean. Services at front desk are professional. It only cleans the room after 3 consecutive nights but will give you clean towel every day. However the checkin time is 15:00 and checkout time is 10:00. Great location, convenient for traveling by train and metro surrounding by many attractive places. I do recommend this hotel.
The check in service was excellent and front desk staff very friendly and professional. The room was a bit small but had a kettle and fridge. Bed was very comfortable and big screen TV was above the bed. Breakfast was very nice with ample small dishes and coffee. Had a very pleasant stay highly recommended.
Check-in was smooth and hassle-free, though it's a bit of a walk from the train station. It's close to food options, the room was clean, and the staff were very attentive.
Room is compact with all necessary features. Relatively modern, very clean, tidy and well organised. A flat walk from UENO station, in a direction that is away from all the hustles and bustles of Ameyoko that keeps it comparatively quiet. Sound-proofing is average. Can still hear people walking on the corridor and neighbour talking if they are on the loud side. I like the udon served for breakfast
Clean room and closed to Ueno station, simple breakfast. We are enjoy to stay here.

The location was absolutely perfect!
The location and value for money were good for a short stay. Check-in took a long time, which I think is an issue. Members can check in by machine, but considering the need to accommodate guests from overseas, this needs to be improved.
Considering the location, it's good value for money, but it's too narrow and small.
good price for location, has all the basics that you need, small room, but nothing out of the ordinary for inner tokyo, would stay again
Breakfast was really poor considering it was only 1700 yen...

Excellent hotel, breakfast had plenty of choice and was quite tasty compared to most other hotels. Amenities in abundance available on ground floor and your room has everything else that you need. Bed was fantastic. No complaints from me.
Good location for people who like quiet and nice areas. Easy check-in and polite staff. The room was very small, hard to open your luggage on the floor. For the price i was expecting amenities like coffee or a bottle of water but nothing in the room. A bit expensive considering what you get.
The hotel location is a little bit remote from the subway. The room are very cozy and clean. The oldest manager at the front desk is a little bit rude. The rest of the staff is really helfull
Good value hotel in a convenient location. It’s close to the metro, the price is reasonable, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. On the downside, the facilities feel quite old, the room was really small, and cleanliness could be improved—especially the floors and curtains.

walking distance to pretty much everything in Asakusa. really good value of money for its location. Clean room good for solo traveller. Family Mart and restaurants close by.
I had a really nice day and delightfully. I was upgraded to a ocean view room. The staff were always friendly and the room was clean and well equipped. It’s in a great location for the beach as well as not far from the café Street which is linked by an Oceanside path that is even well lit at night. Would definitely recommend if you are staying in this area of Jeju.
The location is great, right outside the subway station. However, the room is really small, and the bathroom floor and bathtub are a bit slippery, so be careful not to fall. The air conditioning is quite loud, and there's always other noise at night. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you're a light sleeper.
The hotel is conveniently located in Asakusa, close to the subway station, and you can even see the Skytree from your room. The room was small but very clean. The convenience store nearby was super handy. Breakfast was okay, with both a Chinese and a Japanese option, though the taste was just average.

Extremely cost effective. Paid under $40/night. 7-eleven is a couple of streets over. Best part is that AC unit can be cooled or heated to whatever you want (something that APA seems to avoid doing).
