The hotel is very old, and the "sea view apartment" doesn't actually have a sea view at all. The bed creaks, and the curtains don't block out light. The receptionist has a heavy English accent and is not very friendly. The all-inclusive drinks are watered down, which is a major drawback. The only redeeming quality is that the staff at the restaurant's grilling meat window are very friendly.

First time to the island and this hotel allowed us to truly relax and enjoy our time. We had a side sea view room and it gave a beautiful view onto the sea and the sunrise. Fantastic hotel. The staff are so friendly...the all smile and say Hola! The rooms may need a little refurb, but the were clean and spacious. We even had our own little garden in front of the pool. One thing to note is that the hotel is split into two parts, but it’s not clearly communicated that the check-in desk is at Marin Playa even for guests staying at the adults-only Marin Suites. Not what I booked! I went 3 weeks ago with my son and his family. They booked a 2 bed apartment and I booked a pool view in the hotel. I did not get a room in the hotel but was told my hotel room was in the building next door. Our only issue was our 3year old son slipped on the bathroom floor whilst supervised and banged his head on a small tile step when coming out of the shower and resulted in needing 3staples at the hospital. The view from my balcony was spectacular! The bedding and linens were cozy and I didn't want to leave my hotel room. It was a lovely stay.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent location, beautiful beach just a few steps away. Room was clean and comfortable, and many great dining options close by.

It is a luxury hotel with beautiful views. In the rooms, everything is thought out to the smallest detail. This hotel has everything you need for a wonderful stay. Just finished our holiday at punta del mar, absolutely loved every minute of it. Was an absolute pleasure to come to. Food & drinks were good, rooms clean and very spacious. The hotel is generally good and being out of season, not too busy. My main complaint would be that we paid extra for a lake view. However we overlook the tennis courts with lessons all day long, with a kids bouncy castle beneath (kids screaming till 10pm some nights), plus skips being filled with end of season furniture!
