Room was a bit out-dated and basic. The air-conditioning (AC) was not working very well and it was a warm night.
But I have to commend the receptionist and technician for helping us to change room when we complained that the AC for the initial room was faulty.

I visited Almaty, the old capital of Kazakhstan, for a day. My flight arrived super early, around 2 AM, so I didn't have anywhere to go. I picked this old hotel near the airport for a late check-in and a quick nap. I slept until after 10 AM, then checked out to explore the city for the day. Getting a taxi from the hotel to the city center was very convenient.

Arrived late at night and checked in without any issues. It was quiet throughout the night. We checked out early in the morning and left our luggage for a short while. Overall, it's suitable for a 1-2 night stay. The location is superb. As for the downsides, the blankets urgently need replacing, and the wallpaper taped together was quite noticeable in room 105.
